The original Slinky! They move and sound just as I remember as a child. My young granddaughters (2 and 4yrs.) were delighted with this toy that can “walk” down stairs. This toy can be bent easily, so users need to treat them gently. (When bent, the spring is nearly impossible to fold back to its tight original form. There will be a small gap left, but the Slinky will still “walk” down stairs and function pretty well.)

“It’s Slinky, it’s Slinky, for fun, it’s a wonderful toy!” Loved playing with these as a child but, as an adult I actually bought these to wrap around my pole bird feeders and attach to a squirrel baffle in an attempt to try and stop the squirrels from running up the pole and eating the bird food. It works! Squirrels won’t touch my pole bird feeders now! Just slide your pole thru the center of the Slinky or wrap it around and attach the end to a squirrel baffle. Voila, no more problems!

My sister loved playing with this slinky after I got it for her birthday! She turned 10, so she was able to think of some fun ways to use it! It’s a classic big metal slinky, so it’s fun to take it down the stairs, throw it off the counter, and shift it between your hands! It’s a sturdy thing. Not easily broken unless a toddler gets into it (foreshadowing). It’s such a fun toy! Great gift idea!

Fun to play with. My kids got plastic ones from a birthday party and it brought back memories. I wanted to show them a real one. Happy I did, I fidget with it all the time now. The sound is hypnotically addictive. It’s that same metal color. It’s the original size, I know there are mini ones, this one is not mini, it’s normal. The only thing I would suggest is that you look at the ends and maybe file them down because there are a couple sharp bits from when it was cut on the assembly line.

I give this 3 stars. While I respect the brand, the 5+ age rating is a bit low for how easily a metal slinky can be ruined. Material & Stability: The color is a nice brushed stainless steel, and the material feels like good quality. It is stable and easy to handle in your hands. Size & Playability: The size is standard to medium. However, the playability was very short-lived. I have 4 kids, and their interest level went from a 10 to a 0 in just 3 days before it became shelf decor. Versatility & Durability: The kids tried every trick, wanting it to walk down stairs or stretch between hands. However, my 5 and 6-year-olds accidentally bent and stretched two of them out of shape within a week. Because it is metal, you cannot get it back to its original shape. The Verdict: Older kids who understand how to be a bit gentler will get much more life out of this. I would highly recommend setting the age limit to 8+ instead of 5+.

J'ai choisi Slinky comme objet de détente, et aussi parce que j'avais un ressort plastique qui n'a pas duré étant enfant. Je le manipulais beaucoup... Ici, le ressort est durable et de bonne qualité. Retrouver cette sensation sur un autre ressort d'une autre matière, c'est que du bonheur. La hauteur du Slinky mesure 5,5cm pour un diamètre intérieur de 6,5cm. Diamètre extérieur 6,7cm. Malgré mes grandes paluches, le Slinky se tient très bien dans la main. Bonne prise en main donc. Je ne l'ai pas encore testé dans les escaliers car ce n'est pas pour cela que je l'ai acheté mais qui sait, l'occasion se présentera et je le ferais. (^_^) Je recommanderais Slinky à mon entourage.
