It turns out after a year of use I never ran the lime/calcium crystals in the unit which apparently is to be used monthly. Whereas I thought the machine had ceased putting out steam, after running the solution through just one cycle it's back to working like a charm. So my mistake, this steam floor cleaner is absolutely the best. I love it. So, folks learn from me, use the packet of lime/calcium crystals and you'll be pleasantly surprised. [Initially, I incorrectly assumed the packet was a room deodorizer and didn't use it because my husband always complains of chemical odors (which is the reason why I purchased this product in the first place--it uses no chemicals, just steam). My marble, glazed tile and laminate floors are always clean and beautiful thanks to this Haan duo sweeper and floor steamer._______________________I've had to revise my original review because this unit stopped working a little past a year after I purchased it. Within the year that it worked it worked beautifully! For the price I thought I would have this steamer for several years. I'm extremely disappointed in its short life-span. We do not have carpets in any of our rooms (only on the stairs), so I didn't want a big, bulky vacuum cleaner. I did want something that would sanitize the floors. The sweeper function works better than expected: Picks up dry cat food and scattered litter from hardwood, tile and linoleum floors. The steamer heated up quickly and did an excellent job on all floor surfaces. It removed a very old food stain that I thought I'd have to use a scrapper on. It also removed dirt from in between ceramic floor tiles. I used the sweeper/steamer function together and was very happy with the results. One tank provided enough steam for kitchen, bathroom, den, living room, bedroom, dining room and hallway. I use it to sweep and clean the following items in my house:1) Kitchen and bathroom tile floor2) Large-area carpets3) My best area rug that I've only had professionally cleaned before4) Pet stains occasionally made by my aging and forgetful cat5) Although the product does not claim to clean grout, the grout on my tile floors seems to looks better with each steaming. Maybe the grout will continue to brighten up with continued steamer use(?)Here's what I like about the HD-60:1) The design is very good. I assembled it myself in under a minute. The sweeper, water tank, debris bin, pads and floor rests are all detachable and easy to wash.2) The steam is very hot and very fast.3) My house smells so clean after I use the steamer.4) The unit is compact, light and easy to push around.5) Sweeping and steaming at the same time saves time and work.Here's what might be improved about the HD-60:1) The steamer head is too wide to fit between the toilet and the wall behind.
