Great Sticks! These 8DN’s are the longer version of the 7AN sticks.
These 8DN sticks are essentially the 7AN sticks, but with a 1/2 inch added to the length. I’m sure most of know the “N” stands for nylon tips. Nylon tips work well and should be used with mesh heads on edrums. *although nylon tips can also be used with acoustic drums* I purchased (2 pairs) of Vic Firth 8DN’s and use them on my edrum kit. I can feel some flex in them when I play and I like this. Both pairs are smooth, well balanced and had zero imperfections or defects. I’d say they’re quality sticks you’d expect from Vic Firth. I’ll definitely purchase them again when I go thru this pair. I recommend these if you like the 7AN and might appreciate a little more length.

I had never heard of 8D, they are amazing
OK, so I had never heard of 8D before. They are like 7s, just longer. Same diameter, just a bit more length. Nice weight in the hand when playing. So if you find that 7s are just too short and need a little more length, 8Ds are an amazing option. Vic Firth quality and feel, balanced nicely. You can get a decent cross stick with these if you flip them around, however

Great sticks every time.
Love these sticks. I have been using Vic Firth sticks for many years. Arrow straight, and nicely sanded wood. I like how they are consistent from stick to stick over the years. I use the smaller diameter 8's these because I play a Roland electric drum kit, and I don't necessarily need to hit pads so hard to get the volume I want like I used to with acoustic sets. It allows me to add a stick wrap to the base to get a better handle in it without being too bulky. I tried the 8DN's because they are slightly longer than the 8D's. I am 6'6" with long arms, and I guess I appreciate the longer length, and the ability to hit a little harder with these. I'm happy with them, and don't plan to go back to the shorter sticks anytime soon.

Vic Firth American Classic 8DN - Nylon Tip
Great jazz stick. Heavy enough to get good contact and cut through, light enough, when it's time to lay back and still be heard. One of my all time "go-to" sticks. NOTE: First time to ever purchase them from Amazon, won't be the last!!

Just what I was looking for.
Solid sticks. I liked the extra reach of the Danny Carey signature sticks but they were a little too heavy for my electric kit. These are a perfect compromise.

Very good product
These are very good sticks. Quality control is excellent. Every stick I've purchased is 100% straight, good solid hickory with zero internal anomalies. Balance is perfect. Weight is consistent at about 1.5 oz each - perfect. John Davis - still a drummer... this is my 60th year! (wow)

they don't break
they don't break like the wood tip ones, they have plastic tip so it makes them very sturd.

Tried many - these are the best
I have a pair of these stick I have been using for five years. They are great for all types of drumming. I have relatively small hands, so they may not work so well for drummers with large hands. They are incredibly durable. I regularly perform rim-shots and they just go on and on.

Good comfortable sticks
I bought these for my son (12 years old - just working on his grade2 - doesn't play in a band). He loves the sound of the nylon tip (he is developing his ear) and likes how these run of the mill sticks feel in his hand. He's has a few pairs of these now and these are his go to sticks when buying new ones. Good for the price.

7a's were the perfect weight but were noticeably shorter
I spent a long while looking for the right sticks after thinking that regular 5A's were to bulky. 7a's were the perfect weight but were noticeably shorter. I tried all sorts of signature sticks before coming across these 8DN's. Lighter and easier to use for quicker stuff than 7A's. Still give a good full sound almost matching the 5A levels. More durable than 7A's. Basically only use these now for all sorts from Blues and musicals, all the way to rock.

Good quality sticks.
These are perfect for my style of play, 8d are light but have a slightly longer reach. A good stick for most styles of play. delivery was super quick too.
