Didn't Expect Much, but Hoped for the Best
Update 09/25/20: I just spoke to Accu-Chek customer service and the 1/2 settings actually add to the depth levels and this is how the device achieves 11 options for depth. It's starts with a 1/2 and goes all the way to 5 1/2; hence 11 depth options for lancing. I am happy to learn that I DID receive exactly what I ordered and that I erred in overlooking the half settings that were on the device when considering the levels. Instead of just deleting these updates and leaving my original review in tact, I've chosen to leave the updates, since it may help someone else that might find themselves in need of clarification regarding the depth levels as well. Again... GREAT DEVICE! I hope this helps. Stay Safe Everyone. Update: 09/25/20: I just realized that the picture for this Accu-Chek device is not the same as what I received. This is important to note as it is contrary to what was advertised. I received a box with yellow on it, not blue. A reviewer by the name "Jerimiac" posted a picture of the box that I have so I don't need to upload a pic of mine. The description for this item says, "11 customizable depth settings of lancing device make it easier to get the right amount of blood the first time." Mine does not have 11 settings. It only has 5 settings. However, it is consistently giving blood, a significant amount, on each draw without effort & without pain!!!! I also do not have it on the highest setting. Although, I did not receive the device that was advertised, I am VERY happy with the one that I received. I will be reaching out to the company regarding this though, as this is something that definitely warrants addressing. I hope this helps Shipping: Excellent. I have prime (which has not been relevant lately, as things have been delivered late & at varying times). However, with this product it came much earlier than promised. I'm so grateful for that. Packaging: Excellent. It was sufficiently boxed and wrapped and when opened, the box wasn't even damaged from travel or bent or anything. It was as if I had purchased it off of a shelf at a store. Quality: Excellent: Brand New, well-made sturdy plastic with simple pen like design with easy to remove cap to replace the lancet (needle). 5 settings to adjust comfort and needed puncture level. Reliability: Excellent: From the first usage, I drew blood. I've used it 6 or 7 times since delivery... Fasting as well as 1 & 2 hr PP (Postprandial) checks, all of which have consistently drawn blood on both hands. NOTE: I "never" squeeze the fingers to bring blood after it has been pricked since doing so can alter the integrity of the reading. My shared experience is about actual blood drawn ON ITS OWN. Those who've monitored your sugar understand what a Godsend that is and why this is such a big deal. Price for the Quality: Excellent. Would you recommend this item? ABSOLUTELY! Experience: WITHOUT NEEDING TO DO all the prep I have had to do with my One Touch Delica (which is complete garbage), by running my hand under water (hot as I can stand) for 2 minutes and making a tight fist and flexing my fingers over and over again, or shaking my hands until my arms are literally hurting, just to get a small amount of blood that oftentimes doesn't even fill the blood strips :/ I drew blood SIGNIFICANTLY from first usage with this AccuChek Lancing Device. ACCU-CHEK = 5 STARSSSS HANDS DOWN! History: My Old OneTouch Ultra Lancing Device of 15 years was very good and it finally broke and I had to get a new one (One Touch Delica) to replace it and it has literally been a nightmare. Pricking my fingers (ALL OF THEM!) over and over, on tips, on the sides, everywhere and most times NOTHING! So I began to search the internet for something better reading lots of reviews and finally decided this was my best shot. More on my Experience: From opening and after cleaning it with alcohol, etc., you know, hygiene... I commenced to try it. WOW!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ACCU-CHEK! Although there has been no color change to indicate a true loss of blood in my fingers and hands, I also had no blood after sometimes 20+ punctures and I was getting concerned that I was literally losing significant circulation in my fingers. However with one "painless" prick with this device and I had enough blood for 3 or 4 strips! My circulation is fine. It was the device. This product has changed my sugar monitoring experience, not to mention it has given me back the 15 to 30 minutes of my day that I was losing trying to get a single drop of blood with the other lancing device and lancets. Now it's 2 minutes tops and I'm on to the rest of my day. THANK YOU To all the Reviewers of this product: THANK YOU SO MUCH for your honesty in sharing your experience. It helped me to make a GREAT DECISION in choosing this product. Disclaimer: THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY GIFT FOR THIS REVIEW. I PAID FULL PRICE FOR THIS DEVICE ON MY OWN ACCORD. I HAVE ZERO AFFILIATION TO THIS COMPANY AND DO NOT KNOW ANYONE WHO WORKS FOR THEM. Just a VERY satisfied customer!

Lancets
Unfortunately I had to check my glucose while I was pregnant. These lancets were very easy to use and change. They worked as intended without any issues.

Glucose monitor
I’ve been getting headaches more often and think they’re attributed to low blood sugar. I decided to get a glucose monitors to see if I was right and so far it has proven me right! I decided to track my levels before and after I eat or drink something other than water. I connected it to the app and am keeping a log to show my doctor. The monitor itself is smaller than I thought which I appreciate. It also turns on automatically when you insert a blood testing strip without you having to hit the power button on the side. The digital display is nice and big for easy viewing. This kit comes with a travel bag which fits everything in the picture with ease. I wish there was a case for the lancets but I’ll just get one myself. I love the pen design of the lancing device. I started on level 2 but switched to 1 without issue. Pricks you enough for a good drop of blood and small enough to heal fast. Not painful and just feels like a prick. As for accuracy, I plan to eventually get a different brand to test with against each other. For now, this is all I need since I’m not using it for diabetes (hopefully won’t need to) so accuracy isn’t life threatening.

If you need to lance a lot...
Sometime ago I expressed concern about high blood glucose readings and was given the AIC test which came back at 7.3 which put me about 15% into the diabetic over the aggregate period of the previous three months. I got a prescription of Metformin, and the Accu-Chek kit, with the test strips and this lancet. Obviously, it is not pleasant to have to draw blood from your finger. However, if you're like me you will get used to it after a while. I bought a second kit which did not include a lancet for testing at work. Unofrtunately, that kit did not include a lancet. So, I used the lancets without a lancing device, which as you may imagine was a bit more uncomfortable. Sometimes I would jab too tentatively and not draw enough blood, then I would over compensate and jab too deep. So I got fed up with this and ordered this little beast. The beauty of it is that you can adjust the settings from 1 to 6 with the higher setting being more suitable for thicker skin to ensure you get enough blood, and once you have the correct one for you then you know how to draw a small amount of blood. You don't even need a whole drop to touch the test strip as the strip is very sensitive and seems to magnetically draw in the blood to give you the reading. The lancet is inexpensive as is the monitor. These companies make their money off the test strips and the kit gives 7 , 14 and 30 averages for monitoring your blood sugar readings. I would recommend you get the strips here on Amazon rather than at the Pharmacy, as my plan only allowed one test per day. I followed protocols laid out in several books, and had another AIC test several months later, and got my readings down to 5.8 which is the bottom end of the pre diabetic range. This lancet has played its role as one element. I think you will find it very useful, better to use this device than less sophisticated methods.
