Univen Blender Rubber Drive Clutch Coupling (3)

The clutch I ordered was at the time called “Univen Blender Rubber Drive Clutch Coupling, Fit Hamilton Beach Blenders” by Goodman’s. It is 1 & 1/2 inches diameter and 1/2 inch tall, has six teeth and is made of rubber. It fits my retro or vintage Sears Insta-Blend blender perfectly, allowing the top to sit snugly into the base with no wobble. Blender runs as it should, without having to keep hands on it while running. I had tried other clutches before that would allow operation but I had to keep hands on because of the wobble. This one seems great so far. Note: My blender is Sears Insta Blend 14 Speed Solid State, Model # 400.829302. Picture shows the new clutch installed. I have no idea what the original OEM clutch looked like because it was missing when I inherited blender.

We ordered this to repair the blade assembly on our Kenmore 10082001 model blender. This Drive Clutch Coupling was exactly what we needed. I had to add a single shim, but that's SOP with these repairs anyway. I ordered the single one just to make sure it fit, and I just ordered the 3-pack as backup spares since they fit perfect.

This part arrived promptly and seems to be a good quality replacement, but I had to throw it away because I couldn't use it to repair my blender. Maybe someone else can do it, but instead I decided to just buy a whole new replacement blender jar.

The clutch did not screw on to the spindle to the full depth (number of threads) but it still works ok. The primary result is that the jar does not seat as securely in the base as the original. Since one usually holds the lid on anyway it not a big deal in my opinion.

The part was so cheap that I took a chance that it would fit, and that I'd be able to remove the old bad part. It did fit, and it was easy to replace (there are several YouTube videos showing how).

Good to go. Needle nose vice grips and a standard vice grip is what I used to remove the old clutch. Twisted on the new one by hand. It took less than five minutes. I should have bought this a long time ago. (I kept super glueing the old rubber clutch back on, each time staying glued for a shorter period of time.) It fits my Hamilton Beach 10 speed B1780AT. 50233H blender. Kept me from wasting money on buying a new blender. Time will tell if it ever fails.

Worked perfectly. Someone complained the threads were different than the one on their blender and it didn't fit. The threads are just fine. Anyone ever hear of a "nyloc nut". They are hard to put on and need a little effort in doing so but that's to make sure they don't come off. Made my blender work again. Would buy from this merchant again if I ever needed another.
