Review: Best black sugarpaste at this price point - I hate working with black icing, it's the absolute devil. Always too sticky, prone to tearing, and if you get one with enough gum to be stiff you get crazing and elephant skin. This one was a pleasure to work with- not to sticky, didn't make my hands and everything else black - and I ended up using half the amount as it rolls quite thin. It's a wee bit harder to get going than white icing and you'll want to knead it a few mins to make it pliable enough to roll. Honestly very happy with the outcome!

I was quite impressed with this. I’ve used the standard Renshaw in the past and found it horrible to work with, so was a little wary it would be any good. It’s actually the best black fondant I’ve used. It wasn’t too sticky and didn’t tear like some others. It also was a nice, deep black and didn’t dry out like some others do. It’s a bit pricey though.
