IST M27 Tortuga Traditional Oval Single Lens Mask

First of all, I LOVE vintage style diving, and tempered glass, high volume oval masks are one of my favorite designs. This mask is as good as the originals. The skirt is flared to rest comfortably on the face with an inner lip for an excellent secondary seal. The black neoprene rubber is far better than the clear or black silicone ones that many companies are offering today IMO. I prefer the black skirt over the clear ones because i find the light coming through the clear skirts to be distracting. Maybe the dark surrounding opens up your pupils more and makes the view more enjoyable. I have seen some complain that this mask is too tight, but... the strap is adjustable, so... Many of my older oval masks have begun to decompose which is one of the traits of neoprene - it just goes with the territory. That said, while it's in good shape, Neoprene is far superior to silicone. It's fantastic to find a source for a new, well-made one!

I purchased both a clear silicone and a black rubber version of this mask. They are very similar to the style I used years ago. whenever I use one of the newer style masks, I wished I had my old one back. Now I do. Have not had a chance to use them yet (the lake is frozen over) but have tried it on. Both seem seem to be good quality, and I think they will fit and work well. Strap adjustment is easy, and overall quality looks good. Would recommend to anyone looking for the "old school" mask. I need another couple, and plan on buying two more of the black rubber type.

this mask works great. clear field of vision, doesn't fog as easily as my standard diving goggles. Only downside is that the seam that goes under the nose is really painful. I think maybe mine is defective, it has a significant line down the middle of the sealing seam that presses sharply into the skin. I may be able to fix it away with a razor. they worked exactly as I'd hoped, otherwise.

There is a seam right at the seam from the mold that formed the mask. It hit me just above my lip was very uncomfortable for within seconds of entering the water. Someone clever might be able to shave down that line and be just fine. The mask is well made and otherwise comfortable.

I like this mask much better than my expensive scuba diving masks from the dive shop. Great field of vision and fits well on my small and narrow face. Seals very well, and with a little spit it doesn't fog up.

I had an allergic reaction to the rubber. I do have a latex allergy, never had a problem with past masks. If it weren't for the allergy I'd give this a 5+ rating. It's a great mask other wise
