I used a stray from a fast food drink instead though. Cut about two inches of a straw off, cut an angle to one end of it, then cut it so it opens up. Put the angle cut end into the rear main seal channel then push the seal through using it as a guide. It protects more of the seal from damage during installation. **Q: Does this seal not have the "ears" on the end of half of the seal like the factory seal?** A: No it doesnt have the ears, this is a great seal. The one with the ears is for older models. If u have that one make sure u get the right seal. Great quality—definitely recommend if you're tackling this repair! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good faith in fel pro parts *by R***. on September 6, 2025* Had to do twice , not sure what went wrong , replaced rear main twice and looks dry now , all that had to come off was the double cat exhaust pipe and moved starter out of way , and a piece of cake after that , the seal in my hand is my old one , it looks more pronounced on that lip , the second replacement looked better . Used anaerobic sealer on main cap , hardest part was the exhaust to downstream cat , the 3 flange bolts were a nightmare , cut both ends of the bolts off and found what’s left is pressure fit like a lug stud , the only rusty compromised bolts on Jeep.
