The clips and buckles are that black plastic, on some gear those are nylon or whatever and are nearly indestructible, on some gear, not so much, only time will tell. It has a couple of pouches and 2 elastic pen\stylus holders. I can easily fit my Diisto laser tape, but my 5.5" cell is too tall for the second pouch. I can carry that in my pocket or on my belt, so again, not a deal breaker, I'm just not sure what the pouch is for. The two stylus holders work well for my Bamboo pen and for a generic stylus I use on to Cell\Tablet. I mix a lot of multiple act shows and use a tablet for control this allows me to keep the tablet handy and help my crew with the stage change overs then start getting levels from the stage before wandering out to the audience area to mix the house.
