They get to circle the items themselves and even clean it up. Only advice is "DON'T CLEAN THEM WITH WET WIPES". We did once and the pages began to absorb water, possibly causing tears. We left it to dry without tampering with it and it dried up as good as new, henceforth the durability. Buy it and enjoy it. By the way, my now 3, almost 4 year olds enjoy it and have done so since they were 2. My older one is now 6 and she isn't into it anymore so I'd suggest it for ages 2-5.
