This sliced through the 1" thick panels (3 lb per square foot density) like warm butter. The 2" panels were right at the maximum thickness which would fit through the cutter opening. However, the machine had no problem cutting them. The original panels come in 4 ft x 8 ft sheets and are floppy. The ceiling in our youth room has many pipes and obstacles.
