worth every penny!
Any Laser/system will work with this unit...hey, its laser activated. Best practice dry fire system yet! Want to improve your trigger control or improve your holster draw speed and accuracy? Use this LaserPet! Set it on program two and it will blow your mind. Timer starts randomly, draw and 'fire', timer stops (if you hit it with laser) and shows your draw time. Unit resets itself..holster your gun quickly, then wait for the timer to start again. Think your good? Slip in a smaller target card and see if you can hit that! Fun stuff and you will find yourself competing against your self. Great dry fire practice. If you have other Laser systems, use this PET along with the other laser targets. Again, program 2 on this unit will get you hooked! and, more importantly, make you a better shooter, period!

Has worked for a while with no problems. Several great features.
I've been using this a while now (since April). I've taken a lot of shots on it. It has 4 modes: one just keeps score if you hit the target, one records how many times you hit the target in about 5 seconds, one records how long it takes you to "double tap" the target, and another records how long from the alert until you hit it the first time. There are also several overlay screens which permit you to reduce the diameter of the target down to about 1/2" in diameter, requiring much more accuracy. The target also reads red lasers, which I have on one of my pistols, so you have to be careful to disable the laser unless you want to see how fast you can wave it onto the target.

Home training at it's best
This is superb for training both at accuracy and speed. With a Lazerlyte in your preferred carry defense tool, you can significantly improve your draw times and the semi-random factor keeps you honest. It's also fun to just rack up hits from distance (or with smaller targets). The tripod is nice; very adjustable and folds up neatly to the rear. My only gripe is it goes to sleep too fast and there is no way of waking it without walking over and pushing a button; would be nice to have remote wake-up with a couple hits in a short time frame. Overall a great tool for increasing proficiency at minimal cost.

Excellent training tool
I have been a handgun enthusiast for over 20 years. I've done all sorts of training for shooting. Though most competitive shooters use a Range timer, this is a great alternative to live fire. There are 4 Modes: 1) Records the number of hits 2) Times you from the audible prompt to the time you hit the target. 3) Tallies the number of hits in a four second interval, and 4) Counts the interval between two shots. The target area is quite small. There are several overlays: IDPA. 1 inch, 1/2 inch, full screen, and laser. The overlays slide into a slot at the top of the unit. There is a power switch, mode selector and a reset button. There is audible feedback for each shot recorded, but the volume is not adjustable. There is no memory on where you made the shot, only times you on your shot, reports the number of shots or the time between the first and second shot. It is not a conventional target system where you see where you hit. A tripod stand is included which allows for table top operation, or it can be mounted onto a wall. It uses 2 AAA batteries. I use this in conjunction with my NLT SIRT Glock 17 Red Training pistol. I practice marksmanship, shooting from the draw, and controlled pairs. I also have Laserlyte targets which registers hits but this has more training utilities. It is a great training tool, orientation to beginners in shooting, great for competition preparation and a well designed product. Obviously, you need a laser activated system such as a SIRT or Laserlyte add-On for your firearm. This definitely gets a two thumbs up by me.

Best dry fire / laser system on the market
This is a gun laser practice tool for target shooting practice, not just defensive shooting practice. In other words, you can use it to hone your precision aiming and marksmanship skills, not just the less precise draw-and-fire self defense drills which most products of this type are aimed at. The target overlays let you take the laser reception area down to a precise 1/2 inch, which is the correct scale for simulating 50 foot slow fire target shooting within the confines of a house, where your range might be 25-ish feet. Other overlays let you make the reception area an inch, or into an IDPA target shape, or you can just skip the overlays and get about a 1.5" square to work with. It offers you a few different operating modes - counting your hits, or timed response where it beeps and counts 1/100ths of a second until you score a hit, and there's some third mode I haven't tried yet. It comes on a stand or mounts on a wall, is compact, light, and well made. It would be nice if the laser reception area was backlit. In lower or moderate indoor room lighting, the target area does not look a lot different than the overlays. Out past 20 feet or so, you can't really tell the two apart. The promo picture of the unit in this Amazon listing shows a bright red reception area, but in fact it's black and kinda hard to see. Nevertheless, the unit is great, best product in its category, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

My Initial Impression.. Satisfied!
With the insane prices of ammo lately, I decided to investigate the "World of Dry-fire". Shopped several systems and found ALL range of prices. Decided on and purchased this system and it arrived 4 days later (not bad, IMO). I read other reviews that the 'pointer' pictured in the ad is not and WAS NOT included. Glad I ordered a 'Pink Rhino' pointer for my training at the same time, it arrived in the same package from Amazon. Simple instructions and setup (except, be careful of the laser batteries... they can/did scatter easily) and I was 'plinking' away. Tested at several distances and several indoor lighting conditions (FYI... it was cloudy all day) and it functioned as expected. Only tried P1 & P2 today, but it probably paid for itself already. Target area is only 1.75", so it IS an accuracy training tool. I WILL update if a problem or failure occurs. Otherwise, recommended.
