Best practice dry fire system yet! Want to improve your trigger control or improve your holster draw speed and accuracy? Use this LaserPet! Set it on program two and it will blow your mind. Timer starts randomly, draw and 'fire', timer stops (if you hit it with laser) and shows your draw time. Unit resets itself..holster your gun quickly, then wait for the timer to start again. Think your good? Slip in a smaller target card and see if you can hit that! Fun stuff and you will find yourself competing against your self. Great dry fire practice. If you have other Laser systems, use this PET along with the other laser targets. Yes, it has no data storage or bluetooth transfer to a phone app for long term trend analysis. Those are legitimate critiques of this device, especially at this cost. That's why I subtracted one star.Some context is needed for all dry fire aids. ALL of them are limited. I've tried at least 10 products up to and include the laser target from Salt of the Earth -- the "cadillac" laser target in my opinion, and not one of them checks off all the boxes you would probably want -- and almost all of them seem way overpriced. An assessment of a laser target starts with the laser detection. Red, Infrared, green, even blue. You have to start with that. Are your target and laser compatible? Many are not, and it's not just the color "name". For example, not all red lasers are the same. Others have reported that some red lasers aren't compatible with this target and the product info is very careful to denote that. There are differences in laser intensity, "color" frequency, and "shot" pulse duration -- any one of which could make your target insensitive to your laser source. I use the CoolFire training system the most, with both a visible red, and infrared laser. I'm happy to report that this LaserPetII will detect both. Yes, confirming it detects both the visible red and the infrared laser pulses from my Coolfire system. Others have reported the opposite for this target and Coolfire lasers but mine works fine.This target has 6 useful practice routines. It won't be easy to upgrade because it's firmware instead of a phone app. There are some decent phone apps out there, but I like the simplicity of this device, and the ability to engage multiple targets in a 360 degree simulated environment. It is made of plastic and it weighs next to nothing even with the AAA batteries installed. Would be very easy to travel with if you could somehow also take your training pistol. It seems reasonably well made. The battery door cover is easy to remove and replace. The buttons have a definite tactile feel. The build quality seems OK - again not as good as you might expect for this price point --but OK and certainly on par (quality per price) for many other laser training aids. So far my target works just fine.Finding a target that will detect infrared "shots" from a Coolfire is not easy. So far, I've only found this target and the Keiron. This target has much more functionality than the Keiron, but at about twice the price so choose for yourself. At first I was put off by the small target size (less than 2" at it's biggest) -- until I took a training course by the great Dave Spaulding. This LaserPet target size is pretty similar to Dave's famous "orange dot drill", so I've changed my tune on the small size being a problem. As mentioned, most of these dry fire "tools" are incredibly over-priced. All of them. Well maybe the phone app products (just the app, no device) aren't too bad. I don't know why they seem to be so overpriced. Liability issues? Whatever. If you want a decent dry fire target and you have a compatible laser source, this one is worth a look in my opinion. With .22 training ammo currently pushing 10 cents a round -- if you can find it at all -- dry fire is as important as ever.
