We were able to keep each cat separate from one another and still have them be close enough together for comfort. The airport was loud and they seemed pretty scared, but once we zipped up the mesh covers it helped calm them. The padding seemed super soft and once we got through the hustle and bustle of the airport, the cats were able to sleep quietly most of the trip. The bag required a little assembly - it was tricky at first to get all the tubing in place, but it didnt take more than 10 minutes and the bag was very sturdy. However, I needed a divided carrier and there aren't a lot of choices, something I think is a really big oversight considering how many people have multiple pets these days. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived as the material is nice and heavy and the carrier is very roomy. The Large size is definitely big enough for two average to slightly above average sized cats. If your cats are absolute monsters, I would consider the XL. Also, the pad for the bottom is very cushy and when I placed one of my cats, who hates carriers, in to check the size, she actually liked it so much she sat in it for about 20 minutes. The dual entry (top and side) are also nice, as are the covers over the mesh. If you order it, the flexible pieces that come with it are meant to go inside on either side of the roof of the carrier, down the long sides. I was confused at first because the supports were already in that go around the carrier and I couldn't find the holders they were talking about to slide the other supports through. Just take a flashlight and shine it down into the carrier to find the holders; my problem was I didn't have enough light shining into the black bad. Overall, a good bag.
