I am not 100% sure if my dog is just afraid of the new kind of "tug" she gets instead of the pull back from me when she goes to run after a rabbit or squirrel while I am walking her - but she doesn't do it anymore, so far! I don't like choke or spike collars---and I won't do any "shock" treatment to my dog. Next, it also seemed more gentle on MY own bones and joints when they are not being snapped from my body! Hey---my dog IS trained!!! But, sometimes I DO let her chase---I know its my fault. When I use it, this leash gives her a quick, yet gentle reminder of her training though and she has behaved on it so far!
