Does this remove fart odor?

That’s what the charcoal filter is for. The auto setting will also sense it and increase the fan speed (if not already set to higher). So long as the charcoal filter is in good condition it will definitely remove odors.

Difference between 5300-2 and 5500-2?

My 5300-2 came with a remote however it turns my TV off and on too (Samsung) so I don't use it lol. Honestly the c535, 5500-2, and 5300-2 are damn near identical except for small difference. For this reason I would go with the one that offers the best price as they are all excellent!

What's washable? the carbon filter? the hepa filter? winix's description and site are completely lacking in details.

The HEPA filters are not washable. For the carbon filter, you have to read the description for the model of Winix air purifier that you are going to buy. The first air purifier we bought was a 5300-2 and the carbon filters that came with it were NOT washable. Because we liked that one, we wanted another but got the 5500-2 and the carbon filters that came with that one ARE washable.

what does it mean by "plasmawave"?
