Great product
This product worked for restoring my cast iron grates on my gas stove, they look brand new. I followed the instructions and applied a thin coat with a damp cloth then buffed off the extra. I protected my work surface and wore gloves because it seems like it could stain, and I didnโt want to find out, I also took the advice of another commenter and put the grates in a cold oven, turned it to 400 for half an hour then let them cool in the oven. The product does not rub off after heating. The heating tip is not on the label but since this product is for cast iron wood stoves, it makes sense.

My stove looks brand new!!
This stuff is amazing! My stove was looking a little rusty in areas and overall dull. This polishing paste worked amazingly well with minimal effort! No more rust and my stove looks new again!

Stove looks brand new, but what's with the smell?!
We bought a 1983 Vermont Castings wood stove from FB marketplace that had been sitting in a garage for a VERY long time. It was fully intact, but had heavy surface rust and needed a good cleaning and refinish. This paste had good ratings and was the right price, so I gave it a shot. I cleaned the stove with 2 different 3M stripping pads and then cleaned with Red Scotch brite pads. After the clean up and a wipe clean, I applied this paste. It's very easy to use and very thick, so a little goes a long way. Fair warning: It's VERY messy. Make sure you prep the area where you intend to apply it and definitely wear gloves. Our stove looks BRAND NEW!!! I am very pleased with the finished look of our 37 year old stove, however after our first lighting, it is putting off one hell of an odor. I am hoping that it will dissipate, but as of now we have the stove burning with all the windows open trying to get the smell out. I'd say it's a mix between plastic and burning hair. My kids won't even watch TV in the family room cuz of this smell. I will update the review in a week once we know if and when the smell goes away. Edit for Update: the smell goes away after a couple strong fires.

Amazing product!!!
I have a stove with some cast iron surfaces that showed some minor surface rust. This stuff made it disappear-it looks like new! Very easy to apply, wipe on and wipe off-it's like shoe polish. It works just as well on stove pipe that showed some discoloration/fading paint. For such a simple product, it works great.

AMAZING RESULTS!!!
It works! Years of use and abuse including over aggressive and bad cleaning practices ruined my range grates. I was going to replace ($200 per grate!!!). Luckily I came across a video of person using this product. Now my beat up cast iron stove grates look new again! Just follow instructions. Remember, less is more. Use very little. Those complaining that it leaves residue days and months after use and bad odor didnt follow instructions and used too much product. And for God's sake wear gloves and use old rags to throw out after instead of leaving bad review because product left stains. I applied minimal amount with damp micro cloth on cold grates. Let sit 10 minutes. Then wiped again with old dish towel. Put in cold oven and heated to 400 for 1/2 hour then turned off leaving grates in closed oven until cooled. That's it. Such a difference. See before and after pics.

So far, So good with UPDATE !
Total game changer. But if you have a stove like I, which is cast-iron but has that โorange peelโ surface, it will take you longer than anticipated for sure.! Whoever suggested using a toothbrush was right on target, as that helped me immensely with the job. Weโll see what happens on my first burn a month or so from now.? But at this moment, Iโm looking at a 32 year-old โbrand newโ stove UPDATE 2 days later: Since the stove was looking brand new, decided to clean the front glass. While I was holding the door open while my left hand scrubbed the glass, the pictures show what was left on my hand/forearm. Obviously the polish is no longer on the door frame. Going to attempt a return. Rating went from a five star to a one star.

Excellent results and less work than I'd expected
Awesome, awesome, awesome product. I primed and painted my potbelly stove than put this on top and I could not believe the difference. We took the stove out at the end of last winter because we were in the middle of building and it was in the way. So I planned on getting it back inside in short order. It wound up sitting out uncovered until fall so needless to say it was full of rust. I found this extremely easy to use and less work than I expected. I was expecting it to be like waxing a car by hand but it's much simpler to use. I also used it on my steam pot/kettle and a small cast iron couldren I have which weren't painted first and again it was not tough to use and they looked like brand new again. I just wiped a coat of this on my stove and included a picture. I was in a hurry and didn't bother trying to get every nook and cranny (so keep that in mind) and I wish I had before pictures because this stove was in rough shape. I apply a fresh coat at the end of winter and once or twice throughout winter depending on how crusty looking it gets. It's as easy as wiping it on than going back and wiping it off. Again I just slapped this coat on but it still don't look bad. Also gloves might be helpful if you're not interested in having black hands when you're done but if you're like me and choose not to wear any it'll wash off by the end of the day or the next day for sure.

Best Cast-Iron Polishing Paste
This is exactly what we needed to restore our Victorian cast iron fireplace! It was very easy to use; just wipe it on with a damp cloth, wait for it to dry, then polish with a dry rag. Use a toothbrush to get into the intricate details. And wear gloves because it is messy, but actually cleans up very easily. Many other polishes we investigated need the cast iron to be heated up to โsetโ it, but since this fireplace will never be used we needed to find a product that would look good without that. This is it! Could not be happier.

Does a great job!
This product was recommended to me and it didn't disappoint! I sanded off the rust spots (see first photo) and applied the paste as directed. In 10 minutes, it was ready to buff! Reminds me of shoe polish and equally as messy - be sure to wear gloves! It gave my 20+ year old gas stove a fresh look without the expense of replacing it.
