Great product
This product worked for restoring my cast iron grates on my gas stove, they look brand new. I followed the instructions and applied a thin coat with a damp cloth then buffed off the extra. I protected my work surface and wore gloves because it seems like it could stain, and I didn’t want to find out, I also took the advice of another commenter and put the grates in a cold oven, turned it to 400 for half an hour then let them cool in the oven. The product does not rub off after heating. The heating tip is not on the label but since this product is for cast iron wood stoves, it makes sense.

Amazing product!!!
I have a stove with some cast iron surfaces that showed some minor surface rust. This stuff made it disappear-it looks like new! Very easy to apply, wipe on and wipe off-it's like shoe polish. It works just as well on stove pipe that showed some discoloration/fading paint. For such a simple product, it works great.

Works really well but can be messy to apply
This stuff is great! I was thinking about repainting but opted for this instead. Super easy to use. Has no chemical smell, only smells like wax. So fresh and clean looking wifey thought I bought a new one at first. Like others said, a little goes a long way. Much longer than you’d expect. Also, wear gloves. It’s does make a mess of your hands if you do touch it. Would recommend. Only 4 stars because I needed gloves. If I didn’t need gloves, it would be the perfect product!

AMAZING RESULTS!!!
It works! Years of use and abuse including over aggressive and bad cleaning practices ruined my range grates. I was going to replace ($200 per grate!!!). Luckily I came across a video of person using this product. Now my beat up cast iron stove grates look new again! Just follow instructions. Remember, less is more. Use very little. Those complaining that it leaves residue days and months after use and bad odor didnt follow instructions and used too much product. And for God's sake wear gloves and use old rags to throw out after instead of leaving bad review because product left stains. I applied minimal amount with damp micro cloth on cold grates. Let sit 10 minutes. Then wiped again with old dish towel. Put in cold oven and heated to 400 for 1/2 hour then turned off leaving grates in closed oven until cooled. That's it. Such a difference. See before and after pics.

Yah Baby Yah!
This stuff really is great! Way better than the high temperature paint. The stuff goes on like shoe polish wipes off even easier. Leaves a nice antique finish. Highly recommend.

So far, So good with UPDATE !
Total game changer. But if you have a stove like I, which is cast-iron but has that “orange peel” surface, it will take you longer than anticipated for sure.! Whoever suggested using a toothbrush was right on target, as that helped me immensely with the job. We’ll see what happens on my first burn a month or so from now.? But at this moment, I’m looking at a 32 year-old “brand new“ stove UPDATE 2 days later: Since the stove was looking brand new, decided to clean the front glass. While I was holding the door open while my left hand scrubbed the glass, the pictures show what was left on my hand/forearm. Obviously the polish is no longer on the door frame. Going to attempt a return. Rating went from a five star to a one star.

The best stove black product I've ever used.
Works very well on iron products like stoves. It's best if you first remove all rust and scale before application, which can be done by hand with fine grit sandpaper. Avoid using grinders or other power equipment that may cause scratches, marks, and grooves in the surface. Although this product will blacken the imperfections, they'll still remain visible. Wear gloves and cover or mask anything that you don't want to be black. This product does an excellent job if you follow the instructions on the container. It does require some physical effort for a quality result, but it's well worth it.

Excellent results and less work than I'd expected
Awesome, awesome, awesome product. I primed and painted my potbelly stove than put this on top and I could not believe the difference. We took the stove out at the end of last winter because we were in the middle of building and it was in the way. So I planned on getting it back inside in short order. It wound up sitting out uncovered until fall so needless to say it was full of rust. I found this extremely easy to use and less work than I expected. I was expecting it to be like waxing a car by hand but it's much simpler to use. I also used it on my steam pot/kettle and a small cast iron couldren I have which weren't painted first and again it was not tough to use and they looked like brand new again. I just wiped a coat of this on my stove and included a picture. I was in a hurry and didn't bother trying to get every nook and cranny (so keep that in mind) and I wish I had before pictures because this stove was in rough shape. I apply a fresh coat at the end of winter and once or twice throughout winter depending on how crusty looking it gets. It's as easy as wiping it on than going back and wiping it off. Again I just slapped this coat on but it still don't look bad. Also gloves might be helpful if you're not interested in having black hands when you're done but if you're like me and choose not to wear any it'll wash off by the end of the day or the next day for sure.
