If the charger says charge by Dec 2022 and it’s mid December 2022, do you think that is still good?

Having a hard time making sense of this question. None of the Power Wheels chargers have any "charge by" date on them. And if you meant battery instead of charger the same holds. None of the batteries come with any "charge by" date on them. It sounds like a sticker a retailer put on the battery. You can contact an Authorized Service Center, like Impact Battery, to run the serial number. We could determine how old the battery is and if you were sold an old one...

So if the old edition is the exact same as the new edition,  why the price difference?

Because Amazon runs sales and competes with vendors. They do not care if they lose money. Buy which ever is cheaper at the time you want to buy. Both listings will send a 12V grey Power Wheels battery with the lightening bolt sticker. These are both sealed AGM batteries. They are both 12 volts and 12 amp hours. The only difference is the digital picture. For what ever reason they will not update the images. What is even funnier is that they do not even show the current product image on either listing. Maybe you should buy from a trusted Power Wheels Service Center that happens to also be a battery store that makes an IMPACT.

My nephew's powerwheel car brand takes 12v 30amp.. i want to make sure this battery fits the car toy ?. and if i have to buy the charger separately ?

What is the difference between the old edition and the new edition?

Going back four or five years ago to the end of 2017 thru the first half of 2018 there was a big difference. The "old edition" had 9.5Ah and the "new edition" had 12Ah or 25% more capacity. The predominate red Fisher-Price Power Wheels stickers were updated to the predominate blue colored with red lightening bolt Power Wheels stickers.

Nothing changed with the connector or physical size of the battery. Just sticker color and no longer referencing Fisher-Price along with longer run time for the kids.

Today, you can order from either listing and you will receive the same 12V 12Ah battery with blue letters / red lightening bolt sticker showing part number 1001175653. The 00801-0638 number is still the same stock code vendors use to purchase from Mattel, but this number does NOT appear on the individual batteries. Most of the time these batteries do NOT even come with a retail box. They are pulled from a master carton of six (creates less waste).

Even though the "old edition" listing shows a battery with red stickers, it is not the correct image. If you actually get a red sticker battery, return it immediately, it is OLD!
