Gone through 2 sets and would say that there is no deterioration in tonal quality until about the 5 month mark. Your mileage may vary. The only complaint I have about these strings is that a little more sustain would be nice but these are light strings. They are smooth and easy to play. You may have to lighten your attack slightly to avoid fret crashing. As the preview reviewer noted, these are a great match for Schecter 5 string basses which need super long scale.
