I personally love the warm sound of the MP110. However, I wanted a bit more clarity, so I did in fact fork out $400+ to get the MP150+cartridge+headshell. Soon after I got it, I realized that the output of the MP150 cartridge is slightly lower than that of the MP110 and to my ears that slight difference was noticeable. I also had lots of distortion despite correct setup of the turntable. So, I returned that combo and decided to just get the MP150 stylus and continue using the MP110 cartridge. They are completely compatible and to my ears this is the best of the both worlds (clarity and detail of MP150 + warm soothing sound of MP110). I’ve read that this doesn’t deliver the full potential of the MP150 since the cartridge is that of the 110. But after comparing both, I prefer this setup over the MP150 stylus & cartridge body. Not only it sounds better, it also saves you lots of $$$. Personally, if you have the MP110 and you like it, upgrading the stylus alone will make a major improvement in sound quality without the need to change the cartridge body!
