Obviously not a cut and spliced cable like some websites claim you should do as the LED is green not white like on my Surface charger. Not a negative on this cable, but trying to find out the voltage needed to charge was difficult, would have been nice if this was printed on the cord's label. FYI, I found 12V was the amount, guess that means at 3amps if the included charger with the Surface is 36W. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Manufacturing *by N***S on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2015* It worked for about 2 months and then suddenly quit. I only used it within my office environment so I couldn't understand why. Silly me, I blamed my battery and replaced it. That didn't work so I hacked together another cable (cut the wire off of an original Surface Pro 3 charger) and sure enough, everything powered on. I carefully disassembled this cable and discovered the worst soldering job ever! Only two threads of the positive wire was embedded into the solder and the rest were sprawling across the little circuit board.Perhaps my cable was a manufacturing exception but as long as it took to ship to me I don't see the point in trying again.
