I make jewelry for myself and to sell to others: thus, what a deal! These stones are so gorgeous, I LOVE the Indian ruby look, how it is not a clear gem, I assume these are composite for the price??? I always get many matched sets with all I have ordered from this company. I have made sets of rubies in earrings and pendants, sapphires and emeralds as well, with previous orders, I manage to get pairs that match in size to make jewelry sets. Mine are almost always large too. I love the lots I have gotten thus far especially for the price, I can not complain!!!

These are very nice. Good size and color. But realize these are not gem quality. They have very good color and size but clarity is out the window.

I saw someone else complain that these are dyed quartz, and I got curious. I’m by no means a gemologist; but from what I can tell these are genuine corundum, not quartz, which has been dyed red. It’s the same base material as rubies and sapphires, the difference is in what makes them red. They were probably some gross color before, like grey, and so they wanted to make it pretty and they dyed it. The dye bleeds out onto a towel after washing with mild dish soap. You can tell it’s not some other stone because of the fingerprint inclusions. They’re actually quite nice to look at. Lame that they felt the need to fail to disclose this, but heck I mean it’s not like they charged a lot of money. But if you want rubies as a way of storing value, then you don’t want these, because they’ll ruin your reputation whenever you go to sell them someday. I might keep them as like, game pieces for mancala or something like that. Anyways I thought I should warn you, since you can’t look at them before you buy them. I’m adding a photo of a q-tip I rubbed on one of them with rubbing alcohol on it, you can clearly see it turned pink.

I was completely disappointed to find the zip lock bag containing the gems to find it looking a pinkish red color from the gems. The gems themselves would leave anything they came into contact with a layer if the dye used used on the gems. I am used to gemstones being dyed, but I have NEVER experienced any of the dye residue being left on all things they came in contact with. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF THIS ITEM FOR PURCHASE. I would have given 0 stars if possible.

This was a great buy for the price. The color is great and consistent. The stones have inclusions rendering them partially transparent. But, for the price with this color, that is to be expected.
