Essential for drummers with a light touch.
I can’t believe I waited so long to try this beater. It’s the sound I’ve been searching for, the sound I’ve been hearing in my head. Warm, booming, colorful, tuneful. I’ve been playing much quieter and more melodic these days, and I was finding my regular hard felt beater to have too much punchy attack. I can now play soft grace notes and accents in a much more expressive, subtle way. I play a bass drum with no hole in the resonant head, and this beater helps me get a warm, mellow note. While it is soft, it can still hit quite hard and has a huge striking area. Probably the perfect beater for dropping “bombs” in a jazz big band. I’ve found that I can get a bit more punch out of it if I bury the beater, if I really need a downbeat to kick harder. It responds differently to different types of strokes, which is great for expressive potential. It doesn’t have the punchy attack you would need for most modern music, but if you need a soft, mellow attack from your bass drum, this beater is fantastic. At the very least, give it a try and find new ways to express yourself on your instrument.

Good for more tone, and less attack.
Made my kick drum have a much “boomier” sound, with more tone and less attack, which is what I was going for, so 👍

Soft attack. Not slappy
I needed a beater to help cut down on the attack of my kick drum for a gig I played in a really small room. This beater is high enough quality and did what I needed it to.

Couldn't Be Happier
Perfect for those who are sick of dealing with the "clicky" nature of most bass drum beaters against the bass drum; superb for feathering the kick in a Jazz setting (you almost don't need technique, I feel like I'm cheating); excels in just about any other musical setting including rock, pop, funk, hip hop, DnB, etc.; as a result of it essentially taking out the high end attack of a kick, it suits very very well for hip hop and such, which in most cases is more about the low end bump then the high end click; draws out a good, deep "thump" when hit hard For the overall timbre emitted, I needn't even comment; check out youtube demos to hear the real "boom" made.

That Great Vintage Sound
Back in the day these beaters were the standard. Before rock and roll warranted a firmer felt or even plastic beater this was the solution. For feathering a kick drum or that new neo-soul muted kick this is the way to go. This one is over a cork core I believe so it isn't as hefty as some of the others out there. Great product.

Tasteful drummers know
Great for jazz and small venue gigs. Most drummers complaining either strike too hard, or aren’t accessing the room they are playing correctly. I recommend this beater.

Fantastic for feathering the bass drum
On drums I perform a variety of styles including classic rock, alt rock, and jazz. I am playing a Mapex Maple Meridian kit with a Pearl Eliminator kick pedal. This beater is outstanding for jazz drums and gives a great, big kick sound. Unlike a felt beater there is a much softer attach with less high end content. The quality of the beater seems very good and the stem is plenty long for my 23" kick.

El sonido que se logra con el baqueton es buenísimo, me agrado desde el momento que lo soné. Agrega mucho cuerpo al sonido del bombo (a pesar de que uso un parche viejo).

A great beater for jazz and acoustic settings but I use this as my main beater for everything now. It is great for 'feathering' the bass drum which is needed for jazz and when you want a pulse to be 'felt' rather than heard over the music and it helps to lock in with the bass. As a reviewer on Amazon.com said it will also mean you can change your bass drum tuning. Many people don't realise that John Bonham had his bass drum tuned high. You can tune high but still get a warm sound with this beater and you don't need much muffling so can let the heads resonate more or definitely experiment with a more open sound. This is a secret weapon for jazz. I was concerned that rebound would be affected but it actually seems easier to play 'out' of the head without burying the beater and the core is hard enough to mean you can still get a good thud. Recommended.

Didn't fit my double pedal so I had to file it down with a rasp. Took forever. When I finally got it in, it made the drum sound like the woofy warm glow of my dreams. 5 stars.

Eine echte Alternative zum normalen Bass Drum Sound. Der Klang ist dumpfer und es gibt mehr Subbass. Vorallem für akustische Musik ( Folk, Jazz etc) zu empfehlen.
