At Last a Life [Paul David] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. At Last a Life Review: Life changing book! - This book has been my savior. I have always had anxiety but until the past year, due to chronic stress and worry I have been experiencing regular panic attacks for the first time in my life. In the past couple of months I found myself in the anxiety cycle and became completely sensitized and could hardly function. I have been doing everything I can to “cure myself” from reading other self-help books, yoga, meditation, medication, exercise, listening to podcasts, speaking to a therapist but I just couldn’t snap out of it and desensitize myself until I found this book. The exact day I started to read it I instantly started to feel better. Throughout the book there had been countless times I said to myself “OMG YES!” Revelation after revelation as if he could read my mind. I believe this is truly what I was looking for, all of it makes so much sense and now I’m finally calm again. He states multiple times in this book to not focus all your time trying to find that magic cure that happens overnight because it simply doesn’t exist, recovery from anxiety just takes time and to not worry yourself to death about finding answers. Even if you feel horrible just keep on doing what you were doing before your anxiety got the best of you and then recovery will come to you. I have to warn you though, there are some spelling and grammar errors and the book gets pretty repetitive but the author is really just trying to get his point across. Overall, such a helpful book and I will probably continue to re-read certain chapters just to keep my head above water until I reach full recovery. I am now going to buy the sequel of this book! Definitely recommend! Review: God Bless Paul David!! - This is THE BEST book I have ever read on anxiety! I am 70 years old and have had anxiety most of my life. I've read so many self help books on anxiety, tried every diet and even read books on spiritual healing...they only helped short term if at all! Please read this book...it's the real deal about anxiety disorders. God bless Paul David for sharing his story!

Very helpful but I was hoping for more...
This is a great book for those with anxiety or those close to someone with anxiety. It helped me quite a bit. I just wish there were more detailed techniques for facing/confronting/accepting the anxiety. I would still definitely recommend this book. Two other books that I would recommend is Hope and Help for Your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes & Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy by David D. Burns M.D. Hope and Help for Your Nerves - It's a very easy, yet detailed enough read. Don't be fooled by it's small size & simplicity. It being an easy, understandable read is helpful when dealing with anxiety. Especially when you're to the point of barely being able to focus, let alone read a book. I'm truly amazed at how much the book has helped me. It also helps that she wrote the book in a friendly, almost as if she's chatting with you, kind of way. Not a lot of large technical terms, it's broken down in a way that's easy to understand, which is what she intended. Her recovery method is so simple, that you may have doubts, but it truly makes sense & works! Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy - I recently started reading this book & it's been very helpful too. So far it's been addressing depression, but I personally believe anxiety & depression can go hand in hand. The book offers explanations/examples of how our thoughts shape our moods, various detailed techniques, & examples/layouts for the techniques (a lot are required to be written). However, I have not finished the book (Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy), this is what I have gathered from being less than half way through it. So, in summary, I would definitely suggest all 3 of these books.

Very very helpful in breaking the anxiety cycle
At first I wanted to wait until I was my "old self" again to write this review. I thought that if I fully recovered that it would be worth 5 stars. I realized that it will take awhile for my "old self" to resurface...like Paul and many more fellow people that have suffered with anxiety and the chain of symptoms it comes with. Regardless of not being 100 percent anxiety free I feel that there is no doubt that this book is worth 5 stars. Why? I was in a bad state when my dad recommended that I give "At Last A Life" a try. My dad has had experienced anxiety in his 20's much like myself. All the advice my dad tried to get through to my brain is related to the information that this book holds and let me tell you nothing has helped me as much as this book has. I could go into further detail of what about Paul's book made me feel better but that would result in too much of a lengthy review (okay it already is). I all can say is that I am no longer in that deep of a cycle of anxiety after finishing this book. I'm not 100 percent recovered immediately after reading the book which is what I now expect. But I have made a lot of progress thanks to this book. Patience is important in recovery. In the end this book is not another self help book that you find for sale in the clearance bin at the bookstore. The author has experienced basically everything I have been going through these past couple of weeks. It's almost as if he's reading my mind. I can recall being curious about one problem only to read a supporting solution in the next chapter! Give it a shot!

This book can be life changing. As an anxiety sufferer, the main message is so important to follow. But it is not easy. So maybe an additional outside help could make sense. For me, the book gives me some peace in my day, so thank you Paul David.

Paul David has detailed clear and concisely the symptoms, reasons for the symptoms and method for curing anxiety in this book. I have read so many books on Anxiety that I have lost count but I would put this one up in the top three.

Un must pour les personnes soufrent de DP DR. ça MARCHE vraiment, au contraire des certains méthodes qui on trouve à droite a gauche. Je recomende!!! A must if you suffer from DP DR. One of the few things that actually works for a change! I HIGHLY recommend!

Full of useful tips, this book teaches you how to think in a different way in order to overcome all the negative sensations that can make you feel extremely anxious. The great value of this book is the fact that it is based on Paul's personal experience rather than on scientific theories, which is a very distinctive feature since the problem of anxiety and panic attacks lies more underneath our subconscious mind than in some sort of chemical imbalance in the brain that has to be necessarily cured by any kind of drugs. I definitely recommend this book. Thanks Paul!

I have to say this book helped me. I had chronic anxiety to a point where I thought I would soon end up in the psychiatry unit. I tried other therapy methods with little success. I read this book and it made so much sense. I am overcoming my anxiety now and starting to go back to "normal", the person who i was before this took over. I normally do not write reviews but I had to write this to say this is a lifesaver. Edit: I came to look for this to show a family member what helped me along with Claire weekes. Forgot I had written this! I am glad to say I’m fully recovered. I am Back to normal, after going through hell and not realizing I was causing my anxiety and symptoms to escalate and keep the cycle going. It works people, but have patience. Recovery will come :)
