Effective peace of mind
I have been using these for many years on various vehicles. I always buy 2, for more coverage around the filter. Depending on the ease of access, i will secure a large hose clamp around the whole assembly to keep people from stealing them. On my F350 the filter hung down clearly visible on the passenger side. I cut all my filters open at each 5k mile synthetic oil change. Even using high quality synthetic oil can't completely stop engine wear. You will be able to see the outline of the magnets inside the oil filter, because of all the tiny metal particles getting trapped in the filter. This keeps them from recirculating through all the engine's bearing and ring surfaces. I consider them cheap insurance.

Oil filter nagnet
Previously used on a ford and it does remove particles that can be magnetize via oil filter. Same principle as OEM installed magnet transmission oil pan
