Sleep Mask Connoisseur
I have been in search of the perfect sleep mask for a couple years ~ purchasing several from the more expensive (Tempurpedic) to the less expensive (Bucky) and several in between. Until this Infinity Sleep Mask arrived, I was mostly using the Bucky, which the velcro strap sits right above my ear and after a few nights, that skin is rubbed sensitive from the strap, not to mention light leaks around both sides of nose. When I opened the Infinity mask, I thought I would be sending it back because it looked too stiff, the straps seemed sewn into the mask too high to hold it in place. After washing my face and trying it on, I was pleasantly surprised and decided I'd keep it. I must say this mask is pretty close to perfect and does the best (out of the many I've bought), of maintaining a total black out!! The straps are higher therefore do not rub the skin at the top of my ears. It basically has two padded cups for your eyes, so you can still open your eyes. It stays in place pretty well and is very comfortable. (Disclaimer: I have an adjustable TempurPedic bed so I sleep on my back, turning my head from side to side). I'm not sure how it would do as side sleeper or stomach sleeper. It's by far the best I've tried and I'll definitely purchase another one. Occasionally it seems hot over my eyes, but then at my age (58) everything seems hot from time to time!!

If you value comfort while you sleep, this is NOT the mask for you
Having purchased 2 of these masks years ago, they were the best out there. Fantastic quality, kept the pesky light out and were very comfortable. Couldn't wait to purchase 2 more however, these are going back asap. The old tag says "made in Canada" Guess where the new and crappier ones are now made? China of course. The quality has tanked, the velcro is stiff and uncomfortable. The front of the mask is paper thin with a light fabric covering. Overall the whole mask is garbage. Interestingly enough, the company website says they're a "small family owned business in CT, hand making their own products" and charging $19.99 for this sub par mask. Even if these were free, it's not worth it. Purchase a better brand to ensure better sleep.

Perfect!
Very soft fleecy fabric. Comfortable. It works well to block out tv light as I drift off to sleep. Does not leave any weird marks on the face.

Perfect sleep mask if you sleep on your back ~ Otherwise don't buy it
I purchased this sleep mask as the early morning light is very prominent in our bedroom making it difficult for me to sleep. I also use the mask when I take a short nap in the afternoon. This is by far the most comfortable sleep mask that I've ever owned, however it's only comfortable if you sleep on your back. When sleeping in this position, the mask blocks out 100% of the light and is so soft that you're not even aware that you're wearing it. It's truly wonderful when used in this fashion. The problem arises when you try to use the mask while sleeping on your side. Doing so is a completely different experience, as the somewhat rigid edges of the mask make it uncomfortable when your face is sideways on your pillow. When using it in this fashion, the comfort factor disappears, as the edges can be felt pushing into your face. The best way to remedy this is to push your hand down on the section of pillow that your face will be resting. If you do this, you'll still notice some discomfort, but at least it will be bearable. The bottom line is that this sleep mask is superb for back sleepers, but not recommended for side sleepers. I primarily sleep on my back, but occasionally do so on my side. I've deducted 1 star for this reason, but each person will be different. If you only sleep on your back, this is a 5 star product, however if you only sleep on your side you'll probably not like it at all. Pros: Blocks out 100% of the light. Very soft and comfortable when sleeping on your back. No pressure on your eyes; it's hard to know that you're even wearing it. Velcro fasteners ensure that the mask fits properly. Cons: Uncomfortable when sleeping on your side. Would I buy it again: Yes, but with reservations as it's not comfortable when sleeping on my side.

I sleep for 8 hours regularly now!
What a godsend this mask has been! I am a light sleeper and the summers would see me wake up much earlier than I'd have liked to, because it is light outside. I bought the mask on a whim after reading the reviews here, but now I don't go to sleep without it. Pros: 1) Very comfortable and a good size - the fleece feels good, temperature stays close to body (unlike silk lined masks that feel cool). It's also 'substantial'...i.e. doesn't feel flimsy 2) The adjustable velcro strap doesn't get caught in my hair and stays securely fastened 3) The design is such that your eyes don't press against the fleece - there is a 'cup' like area that your eyes rest against, and this allows you to blink comfortably. 4) Really keeps the light out, and does that make a difference to how rested you feel, when you wake up! Cons: 1) When you turn on your side sometimes, the mask tends to 'give' forward and let a little light in, but I've found it easy to adjust. All in all, I am very pleased with the product!

Velcro is not always a good solution
When I loosened the strap, the exposed Velcro closure got caught in my curly hair immediately. That was a deal-breaker right there. In order to check out other features, I tightened the strap enough to hide the Velcro. (My hair still found it, though.) The mask did not press on my eyes, though, and it blocked light well. If I wanted to recline and "rest my eyes" a while, it might have been okay, but this mask seems too thick for sleeping all night on the side or stomach. Even with the tight strap, I was nervous about the the mask sliding around my head if I turned over. Being aware of the mask the whole time, it wasn't restful. This is one of the more expensive masks, costing easily 2-3 times more than other highly rated masks on this site. The design is "interesting," but does it perform 2-3 times better? Well, I can't stomach a mask that tangles in my hair. Ugh, Velcro. I don't know why Dream Essentials chose not to use a slider or another closure as they do on some of their other masks. If you're a side/stomach sleeper and have a big or curly head, you've been warned.

good product but needs improvement
This product fits my face well but the design is flawed in regards to comfort. The harsh part of the velcro for the headband is inwards and thus scratches the right side of your head above the ear. This can easily be corrected by setting the velcro outwards and using an 1 1/2 inch fabric sleeve that can be pulled over after the adjustment was made so that the velcro won't snag the fabric of the pillow. I made mine comfortable but this should have not been a problem taking in consideration the price.

Totally fine for side-sleepers like me
Fleece! Love it. And it is totally fine for side-sleepers who are like me (more on this below). The fleece is great for me because it doesn't irritate my skin. The other masks I've tried have all been made of some sort of nylon-ish type fabric and they have all given me a rash on my cheek under the one eye, for whatever reason. No irritation and no rash with this mask. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY: This is the best sleep mask I've ever used. And I've tried many many. This is the only one in my experience that blocks out ALL light. When I get it into the right position, no light comes in along the bottom (over the bridge of the nose) like you get with the other masks. The sockets are relatively cavernous (which is why the mask can completely block out the light) so there is no pressure on your eyelids, no contact with eyelashes, etc. Lastly, I know some other commenters have said that this mask is not for side-sleepers. Well, I'm a side-sleeper and I've figured out how to make it work. Maybe it depends on the type of pillow you use? Who knows. Personally, I just sort of bunch up the pillow so its narrower and then I place my head so the thickest part of the pillow hits right along my jaw bone. This is very comfortable for me. But I realize everyone is different.

Cheap and uncomfortable
Super disappointed. I've tried a few of the different masks from this company and have been happy with everyone but this one. It's so uncomfortable and cheap feeling.

Hello darkness
Very comfortable with full light blockage. Little slippage when side sleeping, but ok with some adjustment. Fully recommend this product

Awesome! Works really well
Awesome! Works really well, no pressing on the eyelids. Only thing I would say negative is the strap is positioned a little too high. Could modify, will eventually do so.

Best sleeping mask yet!
Comfortable, form fitting and made to feel like it will last. Time will tell, but after 2 weeks, it has been excellent!
