The Red (Medium) resistance band should be fine for beginners. You can always adjust the weight by how you stand on the band.

Does anyone know if these are made out of latex?

all rubbers are made out of latex. SPRI says it is made out of Tuff-Tube which I believe is made out of rubber.

Will these resistance bands help me get stronger just got through with chemo

I would certainly talk to your oncologist about resistance training after chemo. Your doctor might also be able to give you some pointers on how often to exercise and how know when to increase the amount of resistance as you get stronger. That said, these bands are capable of starting you off at a very low level. They let you increase the resistance as appropriate without a large investment. (Just step on the band with both feet. Place them wider apart until you need the next stronger band.)
