bottle cages - no special tools
I finally installed bottle cages on an old bike. Contrary to some reviews, I was able to do it without specialty tools. I used the bolt and nuts trick. You may want to have some extra M5 bolts because they can get stripped if you over tighten. I should have tried this ages ago. My only stumbling block was finding the right size drill bit. I didn't have metric sizes, but I was able to make it work by drilling slightly smaller and reaming a bit. I don't recommend that if you can avoid it, but it worked.

8-32 rivnuts were too large in diameter - Returned
The 8-32 rivnuts were 0.2595 inches in diameter (actually larger in diameter than the 10-24 rivnuts). They should be ~0.2295 inches in diameter. It looks like the supplier didn't have any or enough 8-32 blanks on hand, and they simply tapped 8-32 threads in a 10-24 rivnut blank. This makes them much too thick in the area around the threads and very difficult to install. The other sizes were correct and should work as expected. I returned the item.

These did not work well for me
I didn't have great success with these rivnuts. About 1 in 5 of them had had bad threads after installation. Causing the screw to jam and the rivnut to spin. This is a huge pain to remove. I needed to cut the screw off and drill out the rivnut and replace with a larger size. Tons of rework; no thanks! I ordered a different batch of zinc plated rivnuts and had absolutely no problem with those.

Good range of stainless steel SAE riv-nuts, properly labeled in a user-friendly container.
I chose these stainless steel riv-nuts to work in a corrosive environment. I used them to secure window winders that were carrying a substantial window weight. After a relatively easy installation they looked good, were well seated, firm and provided a solid attachment for the winders.A point to note is to understand how to set the amount of compression on your particular installation tool to get your work done properly and preserve the mandrels.

Very handy
I love these so much I'm using them anywhere I can. Use to weld nuts to the back of panels and these are great as long as you drill a hole just big enough for them to slip in and can grab the back of the panel

Well pleased
These are quality rivet nuts not cheap crap. I like the knurled compression area...gives a better grip. It does take some effort to seat these properly but I have an inexpensive tool . If I used these a lot I would go with a better setting tool. I used these to mount a trolling motor mount on an aluminum boat along with other accessories...way better than sheet metal screws that work loose.

Needs a carrying case otherwise perfect .
I liked the tool and the rivet nuts but was highly disappointed that it didn't come with a carrying case , there are a lot of pieces to it even without all the rivet nuts and the cardboard carton that it comes shipped in is jam packed with parts and pieces and the second or third time you use it the box gets so tattered that it's useless they don't offer a case for it and I've tryed to buy a carrying case ffg or it but no one has or sells acase that big . Amazon you need to re think this one if you're going to sell it , offer a case for it please . As I said before it's a great tool but needs a case for storage and transport and if you happen to find one please notify me so I can purchase one for me and one for my friend .

Works great for my needs.
The work lights did not work in my 40 year old tractor, and I could not get replacement brackets to replace the old rusted ones. I decided to replace my work lights with light bars. I first drilled 6 holes next to the cut-out where the old lights were. Then I installed six of these riv nuts in the holes. I then bolted on 1/4 inch plates using bolts that screwed into the riv nuts. I then bolted the light bars to the 1/4 inch plates. Everything works great.

Very well made
These are very good for installing an outside sunvisor. I tried self tapping screws and they were never strong enough. You are better off buying the tool for installing them.
