Great Customer Service! Don't buy anything else!!!!!!
OK so normally I am not one to rate products, however THIS IS IMPORTANT! After doing my homework on which LED transformer goes with what in wall dimmer switch and what were the best compatible LED Strips to use for under cabinet lighting here are my tips... Buy the LED transformer and strip lights from the same manufacture! I purchased cool white strip lights from another vendor on Amazon and after, cutting, mounting, connecting and lots of swearing, The damn lights where purple!. I contacted Hitlights and told them that I purchased there transformer and wanted to hard wire the LED strip lights onto an in wall switch. They guided me through which switch as well as which LED strip lights to get. Absolutely FANTASTIC! Do not buy the cheap stuff! For just a bit more, you get an awesome result!

Great for under-counter lighting using 12V DC 0.5W automotive festoon bulbs
I installed this product as part of a kitchen renovation exercise. The undercounter cabinet lighting was originally run on 5W incandescent festoon bulbs which required 2x300W AC to AC transformers to power the 40 odd bulbs. When I substituted 12V DC 0.5W LED festoons (designed for automotive use), dimming was a hit or miss affair at best and flickering was occasionally a major issue. With the new rig I use way less power (40W vs. 600W) and both full-on and dimming functions work very reliably with the same LED festoon bulbs. Absolutely zero flickering at any dimmer setting. Thank you!

Works great! Easy to install.
When properly installed, this unit controls the voltage delivered to your low voltage LED strip lights. It prevents flickering and other issues caused by improper voltages by reducing voltage from 120v to 12v before it is fed to your lights. I installed with the Lutron Diva dimmer and AspenTek 5050 LED's. It was easy to install. I could not be happier with my lights. This is a must when installing low-voltage LED's.

Get your crap together Hitlights!...(update) & they are getting it together!
September 14, 2018 So, I just received this (40 watt transformer) today the 2nd magnetic transformer I've purchased from Hitlights, and this is the 2nd of 3 that have arrived in bent or broken condition, which means Hitlights is 2 for 2 for sending me questionable quality products. Judging on the rust and lack of spot weld on the tab, I'd say the quality is pointing more to being questionable than good. I love the performance quality I've been getting with a 150 watt transformer I have installed in my bedroom with almost no heat, zero sound or hum, and fantastic dimming performance. However, it too arrived with the tab nearly broken off. Either Hitlights is not doing a good job of making sure their products meet any kind of quality standard, or they are doing a terrible job of packaging their product. I'm starting to lean more towards IT'S A QUALITY ISSUE either way! Come on Hitlights! Get your crap together! I will still be able to mount the transformer by drilling holes through the back of the box clear of circuitry to screw it down. However, it's seriously annoying I will have had to modify one 2 out of 2 times to make it work only because I need the lighting right away and don't have the time to send it back and wait for a new one to arrive. On a side note, the only magnetic transformer I have received so far from Amazon without damage happens to be a LED Wholesalers brand 150 watt magnetic low voltage transformer, and the tab is significantly beefier than the last Hitlights 150 watt transformer I received, again pointing to quality problems. The funny thing is, I'm sure these transformers are made by the same manufacturer, possibly Magnitude, but that doesn't explain why one would have cut corners on quality, and the other require a beefier installation tab. I will report back as soon as I have it installed to update my review if the performance is better than the installation tab. update 23 Dec 2018 So, after a while I figured out I couldn't use the transformer because of the mounting tab problem and was forced to purchase a different transformer, and it was too late to return the transformer to Amazon. However, I received an email from Merria @ HitLights wondering if she could resolve any of my issues and has since gone out of her way to resolve my problems I have had with their products. She was very keen on getting the transformer back to their lab to investigate if there are improvements they need to make to their products so that other customers will not share the same experiences I have had. She worked to get me a complete refund and paid for the transformer to be shipped to their lab for the investigation. For that very reason I do believe that HitLights is in-fact a good company, doing their best to get products out there that are exactly what the customer wants and needs. They are genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction, which is tied directly to their reputation. I can't give it a full 5 stars only because I was unable to use this transformer; however, because they did what they could to resolve my situation, I give them 4 out of 5. I am completely happy with the other 150 watt transformer I purchased from HitLights prior to the 40 watt purchase as it is working fantastically. I will definitely consider purchasing from them in the future because of there demonstration of insuring product satisfaction and desire to improve their product. Thanks HitLights!

Well made driver
It’s a very well made driver you need some room to install it. I usually pick a spot under sink or in basement to bring all the wiring together. I use a chase nipple and 4 inch square box and route the low voltage wires into the 4 square so this separates low voltage from 120 ac. In my application the junction box on the driver is way to small works well good product

Works as promised, smooth operating, sturdy metal box
replaced old 300W incandescent transformer previously used with 12V incandescent (yellowish) accent lights to use with new LED (3000k) tape lights and Lutron magnetic wall dimmer switch. Be sure to look at installation video and be sure to purchase the 1/2" cable clamps to secure the cables inside the metal punch out holes so you comply with virtually any electrical codes. The 20ft LED tape lights I used were the the inexpensive kind that came with their own dimmer and plug/transformer (but I cut those off) and connected to a wall controllable Lutron Magnetic wall switch. (check Hitlights compatible wall switch chart)

No strobe, but not a full 12V either.
Disappointed. Bought the 40W driver for an LED strip light under cabinet setup I put in my kitchen. With 0 load and no dimmer, driver only delivers 11V of power based on my multi-meter. Tried 2 Triac dimmers on the approved list, while there was no flicker, strobing, etc once I got them dialed in correctly. The driver with triac dimmer installed would only operate between ~2.25V and ~9.5V (according to my multi-meter), which means my LED lights where always dimer then they could be. Only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is, I've tried several Triac dimable drivers now, this one is the best, no pulsing, strobing and dims in the full range of the triac slider pretty evenly. It just doesn't deliver a full 12V, even without a dimmer connected. If it delivered diming at a full 12V, it would get 5 stars and be my go to for LED drivers.
