The "internal frame" is a thick sheet of plastic but it's comfortable. I'm pleased with the backpacks for how cheap they were but I will probably upgrade next year. Great beginner packs ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Fore warned *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2023* Durability isn't the greatest sometimes they don't send the rain cap (it's not water proof with out it) they had to send me a second one. So I took a trip from New orleans to Virginia via greyhound. It's enough for a few sets of clothes and snacks in the various pockets. However the shoe compartment Divider ripped right out. It's not that strong if you have to wash it you might as well buy a new one my family washed mine without permission and while it stayed intact they turned it inside out so it bent the rods inside. The tensioners are plastic so if you synch it up a little to tight you'll have to replace them once they Crack like cheap abs by unsewing it and sewing the new one on. My trip lasted 13 days while over all it was whole I wouldn't buy it for an adult a young teen sure but I'd want something stronger for me. I gave it 4 stars cause while over all it was whole the plastic strap snych and Divider could have been stronger and there would be no issues at all. Would I buy it again no but not for any reason I haven't already said.
