I've also used one on a 6 gallon water jug. I would say, "yes"... **Q: Does the spout fit into an automobile gas tank filler?** A: I have to assume you are referring to a gas can. I have used it on several plastic gas cans without a problem. It comes with two separate screw-on rings to fit most cans either water or gas. The spout will fit into the gas tank filler on a vehical. You want to get the larger spout for filling your riding mower. The larger diameter spout means the gas flows more quickly and you are holding 5 gallons of gas at an odd angle for moments instead of minutes. **Q: Can I drill a hole to add the Replacement Vent to a plastic container that currently does not have the vent?** A: I just installed this add-on vent to the Blitz Midwest gas can. The instructions recommends a "step drill bit". I started by drilling a 1/8" pilot hole, as I was drilling into the mold seam. Once that was drilled, I used my step drill bit to drill to 1/2", stopping just short of 1/2" so I'd have a VERY tight fit. I forced vent cap in, using a socket to keep the pressure centered. I should note here, that you want to have the cap position as you want it, as once it's seated, it will be near impossible to turn! The vent cap fit was perfect & completely air tight! :) **Q: Will this fit a Clinton P20 - 2 gallon can?** A: The Chilton threads are larger than those on Blitz cans and others. I have both types of cans. Most of the replacement spouts available fit the smaller diameter openings. There is a Chilton can adapter for sale here on Amazon. It is basically a reducing coupler to go from Chilton standard to the smaller threads. In addition, the spout gasket has been improved!
