They do seem like they would chip easily, even in the dishwasher so I'd be gentle **Q: Do the bowls get hot when reheatimg food in the microwave?** A: The bowl itself won t get hot. The microwave works on water molecules so the food will get hot first. Then the heat from the food will be transferred to the plate. They are beautiful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Honestly… *by L***E on February 24, 2023* You know, I honestly was surprised and a bit disappointed with this set. It not carrying a maker’s mark (like Pyrex or any other brand of dish ware. That actually surprised me. I mean, they’re pretty. But truly they are also extremely HEAVY in the hand and the design isn’t (seriously, isn’t!) in the dishes like Correlle or others. It’s on top of the dish ware and feels like it can scrape away like if you forget while doing the dishes and use the wrong sponge. You know what I’m talking about. To make matters worse, when I opened the shipping box, (awesome boxing btw.), one of the coffee cups was shattered. I can’t figure out how that’s even possible because the packaging is really well done. It was so shattered that I had to have someone turn the box completely upside down to get it out because the cups are on top with the eggs holders! I’m saddened that I’ll be returning them because they are very pretty but what am I gonna do with 3 coffee cups instead of 4? Honestly, if the set at least had a maker’s mark stamp I might hesitate to return it because of a shattered cup. But maybe that’s the whole reason there isn’t any markings? So that, over time, you might forget who you bought it from and who to call if you need a replacement coffee cup, say, or a plate or bowl. Overall, this set was something I thought would be worth the money I spent on it but after seeing it in person I can’t say that’s true anymore.
