I don't know what's wrong with it, but my guess is that the spring inside the pump part is broken because the pump goes down (and gets stuck down...) but does not dispense anything ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Like others said *by A***U on Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2015* I originally searched these because foundations with no pump can be very messy, but since I get three (same shipping cost for under $10, so each bottle is cheaper), I also put my night cream (which comes in pods) in it. All three work properly and make my travel a lot more easier.Some tips I find:1. Like others said, you do have to fill it all the way to the top to create a seal which makes the pump working.2. If you find 30mL is too much, you can fill the bottle with water, cap it, pump some water out, then let it air dry before fill your product in. In this way, the "bottom" of the bottle moves up as you pump, so the bottle capacity becomes smaller.3. You can reuse the bottle by push the "bottom" down. I use my toothbrush or my makeup brushes and it is very easy. I don't know if you will end up wasting some product because it cannot get out, but I would assume so.4. Yes, it works with liquid consistency. Thick foundation/cream can be hard to put into the bottle, though.Hope this is helpful and enjoy your no-more-messy daily skincare routine.Updated 12/2/2015: So I finally got my Revlon ColorStay foundation and decided to put it in the pump bottle. However, it didn't work. First of all, it is VERY hard to get the foundation out. I probably got 20mL out of the 30mL bottle. As the result, it did not fill this bottle all the way to the top. I tried to push the bottom up, but failed. In the end, I poured some water in and wished to pump all the water out so that I can use my foundation. DID NOT WORK. The bottle stopped working after pumping out some water. I do not know how others make this work, but I personally do not recommend using this for very think foundation or cream. -2 stars for this. My bottle for night cream is still working.
