The instructions are pictures only, no words. You should spend 15 minutes just laying out the parts and going over the "instructions". There are 7 types of fasteners (screws, nuts and bolts) and 24 assembly steps. Some of the screw holes did not line up between parts so I had to get out the power drill. I think I'm fairly competent and it took me a solid 2 hours. If you don't have an electric drill/screwdriver and have never put together something similar, expect it to take longer. Amazon charges $99 for assembly, which should give you an idea how easy it is. **Q: I've noticed that my smoker gets too hot - the chips catch fire, and the internal temp of the cabinet reaches 500 degrees or more. How to fix this??** A: The unit will require full cleaning the interior. Presoaking your chips will raise their ignition temperature.
