Travelpro Tourlite Carry On
I have an old "Ricardo Beverly Hills" black soft side 4 wheel that I picked up 12+ years ago at a Kohls (or one of those type stores) as a carry on (from now on referred to as old suitcase--OS). It worked pretty well, and I didn't travel as much then. Since Covid, I'm traveling much more often, both Internationally and domestically, and the wheels are starting to give out and the telescoping handle is starting to stick. So I've been eyeing Travelpro--specifically the Crew Classic carry on. It went on sale over the holidays so I ordered one. It was very nice, well constructed, classy. However, it was a full pound heavier than my OS--7.7lbs empty, to be exact (don't believe the website, I weighed it myself with a handheld scale). Well, many Asian and European airlines have weight limits for their carry ons (7kgs/15lbs), plus I'm 60 and short and weight matters lifting those suckers over my head. (I only bring carry-ons--for what I do I can't chance losing all my stuff to baggage purgatory.) So I went back to Amazon and found this suitcase--the Tourlite Softside. You can't find it on the Travelpro website, so I think it isn't made anymore. It was $90 cheaper than the Crew (even on sale), and a pretty color (purple), so I ordered it. It's the same size as the Crew, but a full 2lbs lighter (5.6#). Lighter even than the OS. In comparison to packing volume, the TP is the same hight and depth but an inch narrower. It makes up packing volume by dropping part of the case down between the wheels, while OS is basically a box with 4 wheels attached. I still think it loses a bit from the wheel wells, but the inside measurement of the hight is an inch higher than the OS, so I think the volume is very close. Wheels roll at the lightest touch, and handle telescope is solid. I also like that the large front pocket is larger than the OS, so you can slide full sized paperwork into it, plus it has a small top outside pocket for small stuff you need to reach easily. The OS has shoe pockets on the inside of the lid, which I prefer, but I can adjust the one large inside pocket since it does have a small zippered pocket inside the larger cavity. What I really like it the expansion zipper goes around the bottom, making the case more stable when expanded, while the OS had it's expansion zipper over the top, make it less stable when expanded. I suspect that the Crew is a little more well made and would last longer, and if you travel domestically only I would still recommend it--but I couldn't tolerate the extra weight. I purchased a July carry-on last year for my trip to Australia, since the Light is only 3.4lbs, but it is hard sided and very small, which severely limits how much you can fit in it. I still use it for overnight/2 night trips sometimes, but I need more space for the 4-5 days I usually spend in Asia. I have only used it a few times so far, but it's worked well for me and I look forward to another decade of hard use.

High quality, well constructed suitcase.
Best suitcase I ever bought, overall. Very light and good material, which I believe is water repellant. The handle extends up far enough so it handles slipping a small bag with a side slot over the handle. It survived it's first round trip flight with connections well. Rolls very easily. However, the tie down straps are hard to manage with a small amount of clothing.

Exceptional Quality and Lightweight!
I am a kitchen sink packer and was looking for a luggage set that was excellent quality, roomy, and actually lightweight. This set exceeded my expectations and it's worth the additional cost. My previous luggage set was extremely heavy and would always be over the 50 lb weight limit for checked baggage so I always had to bring my carry-on to cover the excess weight. However, when I packed the same items with this set, my luggage barely made 40 lbs and I no longer needed my carry-on. The zippers are sturdy/durable and the spinner wheels makes pulling a breeze. The deep purple is a beautiful color and cleans easily with simple hand soap and water. I just bought this set in early Feb and just used it in late Feb so I hope it lasts just as long as my previous luggage set (which was over 10 years). If not, l like that Travel Pro has a warranty so that's what pushed me to purchase. But so far, so good and I will update this review if it anything changes.

It's sturdy not flimsy.....
It is great for short trips. It is lighter then hard luggage. I may order the larger size. It rolls good and easy to steer.

Looks and functions great
The suitcase is well made. It performed very well during my first trip. I love the wheels and the pull up handle. They made maneuvering it smooth and easy. I am pleased with it.

BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT PURCHASE any TRAVELPRO PRODUCT
ZERO STARS... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ALL TIME! AVOID TravelPro. Pay more $ for any other brand and save yourself the headache of dealing with them. I have been a LOYAL purchaser of TravelPro for over 25 years. They have lost my business and will NEVER be able to regain my trust. My first purchase was a roller board which I used for over 20 years with no issues or complaints. The wheels were easy to replace and it was an awesome bag. I have recommended them to many family and friends but am now embarrassed by the recommendation. My recent 25" spinner bag lasted 2 trips before the airline damaged the handle. It should be an easy repair / fix, but I can't get a simple repair part. The bag is now sitting in a 3rd world country making its way to a landfill. I can't believe that they even publish a customer support number, because they disconnect you without an option to speak with someone. The Online Chat feature is useless as it is an AI bot, that simply directs you to the customer service portal to enter your info, to only go into a BLACK HOLE! They say they will respond within 3 biz days, but it has been 3 months and I entered 3 separate entries with ZERO response. They do have authorized repair centers, but they ONLY take walk in's. You cannot ship to them for repair.... the closest repair center to me is 4 hours drive. On the website, it directs you to Amazon to purchase replacement parts... What??? You go to amazon and there are NO replacement parts there. I am done with TravelPro. This has to be one of the worst purchases I have ever made! Do some research and you will find better options that will be there for you when you need them.

feather-lite and easy to maneuver
I travel extensively for business, and got turned on to Travel Pro a couple years ago- I still have my first bags, TravelPro Platinum. But my wife always insisted on form over function- fancy patterns and colors with no regard to functionality, until our multi stop trip recently (her bags are from a company the used to feature a gorilla in their ads. Probably because thats the only creature that could move the bags..). She had a large & heavy checked bag as well as a carry on bag and a "personal" item she rode on top of the carry on. They were impossible to maneuver especially when we hit any carpeted area. I had basically the same thing- big checked bag, carry on and personal backpack- but mine was all TravelPro. we ended up switching- I struggled with her luggage and she whistled along with mine, so when we got back we ordered this bag and another- in purple of course, gotta have some color lol. She is thrilled. She came with me on another multistop business trip last week and she couldnt believe the difference in how easier the TRavelPro is to maneuver, how light it is and how much more she could fit. She is getting another set in turquoise now...
