It's not a wood filler (although I admit to loving Bondo's wood filler). This takes the unevenness out of wood, fills pinholes/grain. My process ... use wood filler for the big stuff. Sand as best you can. And when you are 95% there but have a few areas to touch up, use this. It dries quickly; instructions say you can work with it for 3 minutes. I find it more like 15 seconds. But it thoroughly dries and is ready for sanding quickly. Once sanded, if feels sooooo smooth. I was using this for trim at first, but then I had a brainstorm. I was repainting my wood door semigloss. But how good would it look with the existing brush strokes? Why don't I use this product on the entire door? Mind you, this is not a quick project. It took 4 tubes and perhaps 6 hours to apply it. (You can only apply a small area at a time, and I found working with the smallest putty knife easiest.)
