Stick a piece of electrical insutation tape or even sellotape, over the speaker hole on the front (see picture). It gets rid of the annoying higher frequency sounds, but you can still hear the clicks clearly. It makes the metronome far more pleasant to use. Review: It could be louder - It's a nice size, not too small so as to be awkward to use and seems well made. It could do with a light so as to make it more visual, maybe for use in a pit or onstage, and certainly for practising if you wanted to turn the sound down. And that leads me to the volume - it could be louder. It will do for me whilst practising on my drum pad, but anything else? not really. While it can feel a little flimsy being plastic, and the batteries are somewhat tedious to get to, for the price it is no issue at all!
