I have an RIA 52000. It is not a work of art, but a workhorse. The holster does not need to be a custom made thing of beauty that I would be afraid to use. Like the gun, it needs to be rugged, functional and not too pricey. Looking for an inexpensive holster to fit that beast was like searching for hen's teeth. Fobus provides the rugged, functional, and low price. That leaves fit. Some reviews indicated it would fit, others said not. The problem is the 6 inch barrel, the full length rail, and the large front sights. Seriously, this is a big and heavy handgun, and carrying concealed is absolutely not an option. I just wanted to have it on my hip, easy to access, and securely held. So, I took a chance and ordered the Fobus Roto Evolution. Upon opening the package, I immediately checked to see if the RIA 52000 would fit. It slid into the holster with no problem and looked great. The next thing I did, was to try to pull it out. That is where I hit a little snag, literally. The trigger guard was being held just a bit too tight for an easy draw. I was somewhat disappointed, but I hated to give up completely. Everything else fit perfectly, so I decided to try a minor modification, and I mean VERY minor. I removed the spacer on the screw just below the trigger guard and replaced it with a slightly larger one. Viola! It worked as I hoped it would. The gun slides in easily, holds securely, and slides out without much effort. I am very glad I took a few minutes to make the modification. Otherwise, I would have missed out on a well made and well fitting holster at a reasonable price. As with all my reviews, I will return to update, if and when my experience and opinion of this product changes.

Another fine product from Fobus. Fits great, easy on and off and retention is great! Mine was a little to snug but a little turn of the screw fixed it.

Does not fit taurus pt 1911 ap

I will admit I was skeptical, I normally carry a Smith & Wesson shield in the appendix position with a T-Rex holster I've been carrying that system for quite a few years. With that being said I have a 1911 in my truck that I keep handy. So I figured what the heck for $30 I'll get a holster for it and wear it outside the band during the winter months when I have a jacket or bulky clothing on. I am not a big dude by any means I am 5 8 150 lb so finding a holster comfortable is pretty difficult. The moment I put this holster inside my waistband with my full size 1911 in it I was immediately impressed on how comfortable it actually was. The retention out of the box was a little stiff so I loosened the screw up but now it is absolutely perfect the canter I wish it was adjustable but it does work pretty well in the position that it's in. Nonetheless I would purchase this holster again should anything happen to it.

Holster is beautiful and fits very well. Very comfortable and made well. My only complaint is it doesn’t seem like the set screw for changing the lock down force on the gun is staying the same. I feel like I am constantly having to adjust it, but this may be operator error.

Great holster! I use mine for airsoft and does everything I need. I am looking to get the leg mount adaptor for it.

UPDATE: When you draw, the front sight can catch a little on the holster. There's a channel in the holster that accomodates the front sight as the gun is drawn up out of the holster, but as the gun enters the channel, it can catch a little on the outside. It doesn't affect the speed of the draw as you have to give your gun an enthuisiastic tug to draw it anyway, but I've noticed a few scratches appear that have been caused by my sight and the gun sight has become a little loose, which is not great. It's not a huge problem on a BB gun, but it takes the shine off an otherwise excellent holster. I've used a scalpel to trim a guiding slope slope into the channel which should help and I'll glue my sight back into place if it annoys me enough. Original review: I have previously bought one of these fabulous Fobus holsters for my Centenary 1911 airsoft gun, and was so impressed I bought another for my Blackwater 1911 R2 which has a front rail. The holsters are much the same, bar allowance for the front rail. As with the other Fobus, my Blackwater this holster perfectly. The holster is very well designed and grips the gun perfectly and clips onto your tousers and under your belt to ensure the holster stays fixed when you draw. The holster is very quick to wear and remove, which impressed me. I actually leave my Colt in the holster and in a secure container when not in use and then just slip it into place when I want to use it. It takes a couple of attempts to get the hang of drawing, but soon you are drawing your weapon quickly and neatly with the holster staying put. This holster will NOT work if you are wearing baggy trousers, or some sort of trasuit, you need to be wearing jeans/trousers with a belt to ensure the holster is secured properly. It's simple, cheap and effective. You can run whilst wearing it and it won't work loose or let your gun fall out. This is my second Fobus and I can see me getting a third for my Beretta 92. I haven't yet succombed to the slightly silly urge to get a left-hand holster so I can duel weild, but I'm tempted. lol Highly recommended! :-)

This holster does the job. The only drawback is the belt that can be used is only about 1-3/4", not the more usual 2" or 2-1/4" belts. You need to loosen the adjustment screw to allow an easier draw if using for competition.
