Review: Love this record player! - I got the lilac one and absolutely love it. It's a very subtle color but still pretty. The record player itself is awesome. I love that it has Bluetooth output so i can connect to a Bluetooth speaker. I'm currently using a JBL flip 5 (I think) speaker and love the way it sounds. I did a lot of research from lowest price (vintage victrola but very worried about records getting scratched) to up to $500, but i just started getting into vinyl records (wanted to stick lower than $500). I grew up with a dad and grandparents who loved their vinyl and this brought up some amazing, loving memories. It also reminds me of my childhood when i used to listen to cd after cd in my boombox. Theres something really nice about just playing a record by an artist and listening to all of their songs. I was missing that over the last several years where I just streamed music and only heard the more popular songs. Its nice having the physical record and cover to display too. This record player brought me back and has all of the things I was personally looking for. I think it's great for any level you're at and awesome if you're just getting into it or getting back into it. I wanted Bluetooth, manual and auto play options, anti skate and just a reliable record player that would work well without damaging records. This one covers all of that within a reasonable price. My daughter has a suitcase record player which I'm not a fan of how the music sounds from the built in speakers. She loves it though (I did get her some accessories to keep her records safe like an acrylic slipmat which helps with balance and sound too) I'm not an audiophile and I don't know all the musical terms. I do know I like music that sounds good and thankfully my Bluetooth speaker has a good sound, that I personally like. I listen to music constantly and love it. It would drive me crazy if it didn't sound good or right. I did look into lower priced record players that didn't have Bluetooth but I'd have to purchase speakers that hook up which would defeat the purpose of a lower price. It would have cost more to get a cheaper record player and speakers. Now if you don't have a Bluetooth speaker, this could add up. I do still think it's worth it, in my opinion. If you're not looking for Bluetooth, I think their non Bluetooth version of this player would be a great option. I really love this record player and am very happy I went with this one. Audio Technica seems like a great company that makes quality products and looks like they make replacement parts easily accessible if needed. Now to build up my collection and work on a nice set up for the record player and records! Update:still love but there is no power button. You will have to unplug it if you don't want it on while no record is playing. I don't mind this since it's plugged into an outlet that's easily accessible. There is a switch on the back to switch the setting to a speaker hook up so you could switch to that if you need the Bluetooth off *played back the video on my phone and it does sound slightly different, there is no static or odd noises that play out of it. It's clear and sounds great in person*
Review: Wonderful Turntable. Be sure to watch the video- easy installation of platter and belt. - I love this turntable. The sound is wonderful. It is very easy to use. I have it wired directly to my powered speakers, and it works great You can connect it to a an amp, but I saw no reason to. I like that it has Bluetooth, in case I later decide to Bluetooth it to my existing speakers or to portable ones. All the controls (speed, size, arm up, start, stop) are very easy to use. Keep in mind that you have to attach the platter and the belt. This is very easy to do, and it only takes a minute. However, be sure that you watch the Audio-Technica video on desertcart's page, so you see how to do it correctly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the arm/needle damage the vinyls in such a way as the cheap $50 briefcase style vinyls players? Can I upgrade if need be?**
A: To answer the first question about any of the low budget turntables, the spec that you probably want to pay attention to is vertical tracking force (VTF). This is the amount of weight that the stylus exerts on the surface of the record. For this player, the tracking force is listed as 3.5 grams, which is considered safe for your vinyl.

I've heard, but haven't checked, that the cheaper suitcase turntables exert around 6 grams of force. Personally, I'd stay away from them. Our collection is currently over 300 LP's and is worth far more than the vast majority of turntables out there. There's no way I'd buy a turntable that I thought would ruin that ever growing collection.

The answer to your second question is yes and no. You can't change the cartridge on this player, only the stylus (needle). Although there a couple of different styluses that will fit this player, as far as I know, only the conical ATN3600L is compatible with the preset (and unchangeable) 3.5 grams of tracking force of this player. The few elliptical styluses I've seen that will fit the cartridge of this player are recommended for players that can be set to about 2 grams of force. One of these styluses is sold by Audio Technica themselves and if they thought it was safe for your records to use it, they'd happily market it to you themselves. Instead, they highly recommend against it.

My 16yo daughter has had this player for two years and is a heavy vinyl listener. She's very happy with it. She outputs exclusively from its Bluetooth feature, whether to BT headphones or the BT dongle I installed on the back of her amp. I'm about to replace her stylus for the first time.

If you want to upgrade to a better fully automatic TT, the AT-LP3 doesn't cost much more and is adjustable for tracking force and anti-skate. The cartridge is replaceable and interchangeable with a wide variety of cartridges. I have this one and upgraded it with a cartridge with a micro line stylus, the AT-VM95ML. The headshell for this player is really attractive, but is a bright red. Cartridges can often come in many different colors, some of which you may feel clash with the color of the included headshell. Luckily, the headshell is also replaceable and the only ones I found so far that are black and seem nearly identical are Denon's PCL-310BK or LP Gear's HS3. These are angled headshells made for straight tonearms.

**Q: Weight of needle on record? One oz or does it kill records?**
A: It is imperative to buy a arm contact weight scale to accurately set the weight to the record groove contact.

**Q: Does this turntable have built in speakers, or must you have external speakers? could i play it through an ultimate ears boom 3 bluetooth speaker?**
A: Just to clarify… you can hook this up to a speaker and play vinyl through the speaker?
I just bought a new record player, but it’s backward. It plays music through its speakers on BT.

**Q: Does it require a preamp?**
A: Thanks very much for your question. It has one built in. World Wide Stereo is 40 years old and a proud authorized AudioTechnica dealer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice turntable for the money
*by V***N on February 28, 2026*

I love this turntable as I can connect it to my Bluetooth speakers and headphones. No need for bulky receivers, speakers, and wires along the walls. It was easy to set up and easy to pair. Great video instructions were on the Amazon item page. I always took great care of my records, so the sound is pretty near perfect! I don't mind the slower speed of the automatic start and stop times. I also like that it is portable and lighter than the turntables of 30 years ago.
