There is absolutely no scent that I can detect from whatever is inside the container. Stuff seems to stay fresh for many months. On the down side: Since these containers get used almost daily, I am always opening and closing them. This seems to move finer particles around, causing them to stick to the top and sides, slowing making the container lit hard to get on and off. Or perhaps the fine particles are clogging the air release valve.
