Fruit Chia Bar, Strawberry, 24 Count

So I purchased this thinking it was gum, looking at the picture you might think so too, however upon close reading of the title, it does indeed say it's a fruit and seed BAR. So oops at me, but either way on to an actual review of this. It's not tooo bad, it has that "health food taste" if you bite it, but if you just like lick at it, it kinda taste the same as if you were to take a fruit roll up and just shove the whole thing in your mouth then just lick at it. Though once you bite it, it kinda has a "prune mixed with other dried fruit" taste, though what could you really expect, the ingredients are:Apple Puree, Apple Concentrate, Strawberry Concentrate, and Chia Seedsso eh, it's alright for being a natural bar thingy, however i wouldn't have paid 2 bucks for it if i'd known what it was.

I ordered one bar in Cranberry and one in Strawberry just to give them a try since it is hard to find portable easy snacks that are gluten free. I found them not too sweet, with a nice texture. I like the crunch of the chia seeds. I will be ordering some more of these. They will make nice snacks to take along on hikes.

Containing natural strawberries (more like a strawberry mash/puree), this bar is different from many other bars currently available. There are chia seeds throughout the bar which give it an interesting texture, and overall, is much softer and easier to chew than a lot of the other energy/snack-style bars. It's price point is acceptable, although not hugely competitive with other bars in the market.

This is the first time I had chia I don't likeit but it looked delicious and had a tasty smell. If you are a chia lover it's worth a try.

I really like these bars! They have a similar texture to the inside of a fig newton, but tons more intense flavor. They're slightly chewy, no problem at all to eat while running or hiking. Chia is a great source for balancing hydration (because they absorb moisture) without that bouncing, belly full of water. These give a good boost of energy, both because of the chia seeds and the easily converted calories.Now - a lot of people have trouble with the seeds, which are about the size of strawberry seeds. Personally, I like them and they have a slight crunch to them too. Yes, they ARE the same seeds on the Chia Pets although they are grown and harvested as a food product in this case. Don't worry - you're not going to grown little green plants on your head.

Don't get taken in by the picture they show where it advertises that you get an entire package of many bars BUT you only get ONE small bar. Shame on me but SHAME on you for showing false advertising.

I'm sorry I forgot all about this little gem and to tell you all how much I enjoyed it.I purchased just ONE single bar when I saw it available and thought I would try it and let me tell you, it surprised me all the way.Absolutely delicious, and so fresh tasting with just the right texture and flavor; the right chewiness and sweet-tartness. And combining with chia seeds is so unique and it added something extra to it that I wouldn't have thought of.If someone wants to gift me a box for Christmas (cranberry), that would be just awesome! :)
