Would purchase again if I need it.
Simple to use, fast results and permanent. It enhances the tile work and makes the floor look cleaner. It is some very tough material and stands up to scrubbing floors well. I recommend using it to cover old grout to refresh color or to change it.

Awesome!
I just finished my grout coloring projects today. I must say that I am very pleased with the grout pen(dark gray) so far. I purchased three pens for my kitchen backsplash and a shower wall. One wall in my shower has a dark gray grout, which in spots was beginning to discolor. I scrubbed and scrubbed, however, I could not bring the color back. I used a dark gray grout pen and colored all of the grout on that shower wall and it turned out great. It was easy to use, clean up of any excess on the tile was simple and the color looks great. See photos. Next, my kitchen backsplash. The backsplash is made up of white subway tile with white grout. The only problem is that the white grout became very dingy and yellowish over time. I used the same dark gray grout pens for the backsplash and it turned out amazing. See photos. The grout pens last a long time in my opinion. I used maybe one and a half pens for both my kitchen backsplash and shower wall. I even double coated near the kitchen sink and behind the oven for extra protection. It took me about 8 hours to do the kitchen and shower wall. My recommendation to you would be to complete your task, allow the grout to dry for an hour or so and come back to wipe down the excess color off of the tiles. With a damp cloth, the excess color wipes right off of the tiles. With a non-porous tile, you donโt need to worry about coloring outside the lines. It will not stain. Donโt wipe down after every bit of color you get on the tile, it will add so much time to your job. Wait until youโre all finished, then clean. I used microfiber towels, bundled up and damp. I worked it in circle motions through the tile wall, trying not to apply to much pressure to the grout lines. When the grout color is fresh, some may wipe off if you apply too much pressure directly to the grout. This is why I recommend waiting an hour + before wiping down. Allow it to settle into the grout. I started wiping too quickly after application and had to add some color again. After you clean up the excess color off of the tiles, examine for any touch up areas. There will likely be a few. Some reviews addressed the pen tip breaking. I never experienced this. During the color process, keep a paper plate handy to dab and prime the color into the pen tip. Do this often and you wonโt need to press hard while coloring. I could see it breaking if you go all King Kong on it. I canโt speak for the durability of the product yet, but as time goes on, I will update my review. I may add a spray on tile/grout seal after a few days to help protect the color as well.

Not for use in wet areas
NOT FOR USE IN SHOWERS This is a great product for floor or wall repair, but given it's water-soluble, it should not be used in wet areas. I used it on my bathroom floor and it worked great. Itโs easy to apply. The one thing to be aware of it that you should have a dense sponge (like a โmagic eraserโ) and once you go over the line, pass over it again with the sponge to even it out. Looks great. I tried it in my shower, however, and it's terrible. It lasts a couple of days, then it starts to flake off. My grout has an interesting color - when it's dry it's almost white (and a perfect match to this gray), but when it gets wet, it turns dark gray (almost black), so, where the product flakes off, you see black portions of the grout coming through. It looks like mold! The treatment seems to last no more than a couple of days. I've tried re-treating it and then sealing it with a clear grout sealer, all to no avail. The product is just not strong enough for shower floor. As I said, the rest of the bathroom seems just fine, it's just the shower floor that seems to suffer. Upside is that it removes pretty easily - I took a nail brush and some alcohol and got most of it up. Now looking for a different solution. Pros: - easy to apply Cons: - Flakes off if used in a shower Recommendation: OK to use in other parts of the bathroom or kitchen, but not where standing water will collect.

Quick, easy and cheap
Best and cheapest way to totally transform tile. I bought a table at a thrift shop with tile in the center. The grout wouldnโt come clean so I bought this to cover it. Took me a total of 20min to do two coats. It glides on so smooth and effortless. Dries super fast. I recommend having a piece of paper nearby to prime the pen occasionally to make sure it stays wet. Highly recommend this product!

Difficult to get all of the liquid out.
While the results were good, I ended up with a lot of wasted product. This is a grout pen so Iโd expect it to hold up to the rough texture of grout, but itโs shreds or flattens the tip pretty quickly. Once that happens, it becomes more difficult to get all the paint/stain out. I learned that because the tip is not even attached to the end of the pen which is somewhat problematic; it also made it possible to pull the tip out and start over on the other side. I had lots of pens I could hear liquid in that once the ends were damaged, I just could not get any more out of. I went through a lot trying different kinds of pressure to get the pen to work without damage. Iโd probably have needed half as many pens if I couldโve used all the product.

Choose this product if you are prepared to replace you grout
Buyer beware. I read all the good reviews and thought this would be a good solution to the white grout on my kitchen floor. I scrubbed the grout on my hands and knees to make sure it was very clean. Then I rinsed the whole floor three times. I was very careful because I wanted this to work. After the floor dried I began the application process. I guess I was sloppy and it would get on the floor so I wiped as I went. After a bit I stopped wiping and decided to wipe once it dried because I was wiping away more than I was putting down. So I did about three fourths of the floor and let it dry for about an hour. Once I began rinsing the floor with clear water the dye came up off the floor pretty easily. However, in spots the dye washed off as well. So now I have grey and white splotched grout. My husband said maybe it was some sort of sealer on the floor so he sanded down one area until it was bare grout. We dyed that area, let it dry for an hour and it rinsed right off again. Iโll include pictures of the splotchy mess. Iโm not sure what I need to do to fix it but Iโm thinking I may need to replace all of the grout at this point. BTW, I did a test spot and that area was fine so not even that helped me.

Really impressed.
I must admit, I was very sceptical about how good this would be, but it was either that, or rake out and re-grout. The existing grout (floor tiles) had badly discoloured from its grey, and looked horrible. I'd tried all the usual things, bicarb / white vinegar etc., to no real avail. This done the job perfectly. Like most things, you need to take your time and wipe any excess from the tile (using dry kitchen towel works great - not damp cloth, which will just smear it). Minor niggle is that the applicating nib (bit like a felt tip) would ideally be angled to make it easier to get into corners. I found a way round this by depressing a few times in a washed out yoghurt pot so you get a little liquid forming, and then use an artists paint brush. This allows you to get right into corners. Love this, great product!

Amazing Transformation
These grout pens are great to use and really transform the appearance of tiles, whether brightening faded white grout, or changing the colour completely. You need to press the nib down to get the paint to flow, which you'll find yourself repeating frequently. Don't press too hard, as the nib eventually works its way inside the pen, so the less pressing the better. You can go at grout completely free hand, give it 5 mins or so to dry, then wipe over with a dry, preferably textured/micro-fiber cloth, to remove any excess on the tiles themselves. Don't worry, it comes off the tiles very easily. We used dark grey to make the 1/3 brick finish of our white tiles stand out, and we're really pleased with the results. I've bought another pen to keep as spare and use to touch up a few areas that were proving tricky to reach as the original pens ran out. The only down side is that painting the grout a darker colour shows you if/where it wasn't grouted very neatly to begin with!! I had to sand a few areas first to get the lines looking neat.
