Product Description 3M Fastbond Contact Adhesive 30NF is a low-odor, water-based adhesive designed to deliver a high-strength, high-coverage bond with a bonding range of 4 hours. Post-formable and high-temperature-resistant, this adhesive is non-flammable in the wet state. 3M Fastbond Contact Adhesive 30NF is proven to bond combinations of most foamed plastics, plastic laminate, wood, plywood, wood veneer, and canvas. Whether it is being brushed or rolled on, the application of 3M Adhesive is a straightforward process. Start by carefully applying your adhesive to your surface until you’ve formed a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, the application of one coat should prove sufficient for most surfaces. Effective adhesive coverage is accomplished when 80% or more of the surface is covered. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. In order to apply additional adhesive, simply wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat. First layer is wood to styrene, second layer is wood to wood. This stuff worked beautifully. Poured it into a paint tray, applied with a texture roller, easy peasy. It gets tacky within a few minutes, good adhesion not long after, but takes a while to fully dry/cure. Overall, it's very easy to work with and does a great job. I am also quite happy that it seems to stay usable while sealed for a long time - I've got about a quart left in the jug, and a month later it's still perfect. This stuff isn't cheap, but like most magic 3M chemicals, it does exactly what it says it does and does it well.

**Q: How about using this to glue Leather to Wood?**
A: I have not tried it, but I think it would work very well.  You coat both pieces with the glue and let it mostly dry, then put the pieces together for a strong bond with a roller of some other method to press the pieces together.

**Q: What is the square foot coverage of this product**
A: I can't give any definitive answer, they porosity of the substrate would make a difference.  I used it for a countertop and covered very well, I had more than enough.  It says it requires 3-5 grams for square foot but I doubt that would really happen.  That would give about 80 square feet of coverage.  I would expect a little less than that.  This stuff has very little odor and works just fine!

**Q: Will it work OK for automotive applications - like glueing carpet to the car's floor?**
A: Yes, but if you make a mistake, you will ruin the carpet trying to remove it.  I think there are better glues out there, like 3M super 77 or 90 for this type of project.  Both are spray adhesives.

**Q: Will this work to glue carpet to wood on a cat tree?**
A: I see no reason that it wouldn't work for that as long as you follow the directions.

So my dumb self decided to use this on some furniture linoleum (Forbo) and for some reason I wasn't prepared for it to stick so well and immediately. It barely grazed it and that was it. I ruined part of my desk because it was impossible to remove and I stretched/ripped some of the linoleum in a panic trying to get it off. User error. Wish I had a helper at the time. Anyway very easy to apply and low VOC make this a great product. Just be careful when joining the two parts.
