if the white marble tabletop already has stains, can I use this now?

I can't answer that question with impunity, but I can tell you that I have used this product on granite and marble and it has been impervious to stains of any kind for 5 years, and fluids still bead on it. It is the best stone sealer that I have found. Saying that, it is understandable that there are no stains at all on the countertop and floor that were new when I sealed them. I might scrub stained marble with CLR , rinse well, and allow it to dry a couple of days to to be rid of some soaked in stain. I have never had to deal with marble that had penetrated stains, so I can't be certain that my suggestion is a good one. Without a professional to assist in the suggestion, you might be taking a chance using something previously untried on a white highly porous stone. Personally, I would never want marble in a kitchen, because of fruit, wine/juices, grease, and dark sauce stains. Good luck,
