I have had this kit for a while now and felt I should be fair and update my review. I originally gave this kit only 1 star and have bumped it up for a couple of reasons. If you would like to read my original rant, it is at the bottom. I would think anyone would agree why I gave it only one.Reasons for my update.1. I still own this product. Looking back on when I first purchased this I was unhappy but was happy with how I ended up with this. Turns out the stand with lower quality out of two, is what the kit was supposed to have. They did not have enough stock and upgraded one to fill my order. I think I may not have been so upset at the time if they had forwarned me this was happening instead of me emailing to find out because they were two different stands. That said. I still do not think it is ok to ship out rusty product. But because I was sent an upgraded stand in my set I was not supposed to get, I let it go.2. I had another stand set comparable in price. This set has outlasted that one by far. In comparison, my other set was very lightweight and did not hold up. One tube even bent and snapped. This kit on the other hand though it has more weight it is not uncomfortable to tote around. The rust has worsened of course but I have cleaned it up so that it still functions. I think the paint could be better. It scratches easily. If you maintain this kit, it is a good buy. I have since upgraded some of this set to another brand. For a beginner, I think this is a great set. Not to cheaply made that I would destroy it like my first set, but something to build on.*Original Comment* - I bought this kit last week and was super excited for its arrival. I am so disappointed! The first thing I look over is the stands are not even matching! One has different knobs from the other at the top and are not the same color. One has texture, the other does not. One missing rubber grips. ONE HAD RUST AROUND SCREWS! So disappointed.

I bought these lights thinking they would be average or sub-par because of the price but had seen good video reviews. The lights are excellent. They are very bright, and a little above average when it comes to build quality based on my Lowel lights. The soft box setup is extremely easy and quick and the light quality is good. I use the lights for internet videos, and commercials. The are too big to take to my live recording events but perfect for in house. I looked and it is hard to find a quality light kit at this price. You get two lights, soft boxes, stands, cases, and bulbs. Excellent. I plan on buying another set if this one continues to prove itself like my Lowel lights. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because one of the stands though good, was not quite there as far as I am concerned. Shipping was extremely fast!

Bought this as my first light set up.I know there are others out there that are cheaper, but being that I am serious about taking my business to the next level and did not want to be disappointed with cheaply made lights, I settled on these.I use these lights for shooting products reviews for the products we sell.I also use these for product photo shoots or for over exposing white backgrounds for that white infinity look.If you're like me and enjoy quality made products that leave you headache free, then these are it.I'm sure there are other light kits out there that are better, but for the price, these lights rank with the big boys!

These lights are pretty good for starting out in photography. I have used them since opening my business 5 years ago for portrait photography. The soft box Umbrellas have broken a few times and needed replacement, but I was able to contact the seller and they replaced them without issue. The wire components on the inside of the soft box, and the plastic white rod on the soft box umbrella portion that goes through the middle of the light compartment are the areas that seem to break the most. They have since broken again, but I have just repaired myself. The actual flora light holders have held up well and all of my lightbulbs still work after over 5 years of use! I plan to upgrade my lighting for a more professional light for use with larger group portraits soon, but have found them to be a good starting point.

I have used this for boudoir and for food shoots, these are great, the lighting is pretty even, no hot spots.
