The tiles are what I expected them to be (looking at the picture), I had one or two blank ones, but all the other ones are fine...know that you will get a random spread of all the letters and not the same setup as the the game will have, which worked out better for me since I needed more of some of the high point letters anyway. The color in wood varies, but I think looks good for the project I did. The problem I had with the second set I ordered was that the shipping kept getting delayed. The seller notified me to let me know of these delays, and looked into them without my asking ( it was due to shipping delays from their supplier). The seller also offered to refund a discounted price because of the delays and was very apologetic.

I ordered 2 packages (I am using the Scrabble tiles for some craft projects) and am very happy with the tiles. In fact, I do not understand many of the negative reviews. There seem to be 2 general themes of the negative reviews and I have comments on both. First, some people complain about the selection of letters in this 100 letter Scrabble tile set. Maybe the write-up is not clear, but this is a replacement set of tiles for the original tiles included with a Scrabble game. This means that there are not a lot of the some letters (only 1 J, 1 Z, 2 M, 2 V, etc.) and a large number of other letters (6 R, 8 O, 12 E, etc.). The letter distribution in this 100 letter Scrabble tile set, and in the Scrabble game, is by design. Therefore, for those wanting to use the tiles for a craft project, this 100 tile set may not meet the needs. Second, some people complain about the quality of the letter tiles. I found the quality of the tiles to match the quality of the tiles that came with my 1970's vintage Scrabble game. These are wooden tiles and the quality of the wood will vary from tile to tile - the shade of wood varies (ranging from light to medium, similar to those in my game set) and the wood grain on the tiles varies. However, I purchased 2 sets of tiles and did not notice and problem with any of the 200 total tiles. None of them are split and the stamped letters and numbers on each tile are clear and the printing is very strong. Maybe I got lucky with the quality, or maybe some people just received bad batches.

I know some reviews talked about inconsistencies in the size, color and grain of the tiles. But, honestly, you're not going to get perfect tiles for such a low price. Sure, the letters are not etched into the wood, but they are very nicely embossed, and you really can't tell the difference unless you look up close. I used these tiles to create custom coasters, and I think they came out great! Actually, I think the variations in the wood made them look visually interesting. They probably aren't the best replacement game tiles, although I'm sure they'd work fine in a pinch, but if you are looking to do a craft or project on a dime, then I would definitely recommend using these tiles.

Going to be using these on a special craft project! Can't wait to start!

These are exactly like the tiles you will find in a scrabble game. I used to order directly from Hasbro but the downside is they allowed you only to order so many per year. And this past Black Friday there are were no sales on Scrabble. I also don't like having all those materials left, gameboard, box, tile holders, etc. These seem to be even better quality than the ones from when I would order from Hasbro direct. Some tiles would have a wonky angle on one side. I will be ordering more and finally have a consistent place to order so I can make more bracalets, wine charms, necklaces. Which I have slowed down on because of the issue of keeping tiles in stock.

I do a lot of craft projects and these scrabble tile letters are perfect for that. It has also been a good learning tool to teach my 4 year old her letters. She likes to spell her name out with the letters or put them in the order of the alphabet. It's a good portable game to bring along to restaurants to distract my kids so they play quietly so I can actually eat. My 2 year old likes to stack them into building blocks and then make them come tumbling down. So great for replacing Scrabble tiles, or adding to the Scrabble game to make the game last longer. But great for this mommy to distract the kids as well as teach them a thing or two...

Before I begin my review, I think it's important for you to know what I purchased these for. I bought them for use in some craft projects, NOT to replace actual game tiles in my Scrabble board. I would NOT recommend these for use on an actual board game because they will NOT match and aren't perfectly flat on the sides which means they won't lay straight edge to edge next to other pieces. That being said, they were ok for my project. Ok enough anyway. Here are some things you should know before buying these: - First and foremost, the letters/numbers are painted on only. Real Scrabble tiles (or even the ones that I bought at Hobby Lobby that don't have the point values on them) have the letters etched into the wood itself and then painted black. These have no indentation into the wood whatsoever. - There is a wide variety of wood grains and patterns among these tiles. - A good number of them are poorly sanded and chipped ranging from mild to severe (see pictures) and some of them even had globs of glue on the back and sides that made them unusable for me. - I got at least one of each letter but it would've been nice to get at least 2 of each letter instead 2 blanks. - Some of the painted on letters have thicker lines than the rest. You can see in my pictures that the 'R' in particular definitely has thicker lines than the other letters making it stick out and look weird when it's next to them. That was disappointing. - They are a pretty good match for the original Scrabble tiles in terms of size, thickness and font, but due to other issues mentioned and a lack of shaped corners, they aren't going to match original game tiles well. I highly recommend you buying game tiles for your game directly from Hasbro which sells tiles, bag and racks for $7.99 on their website. All in all these were just ok for my purposes. You can see how I was using them (gluing them on racks purchased from the same company - I was even more displeased with those - for use in our guest quarters) and they look alright. I suppose it all depends on what you're using them for and how much attention to detail is required to say whether I would recommend them or not. Hopefully this has been helpful in deciding if they're right for you!
