Maria Nila Color Refresh, Cacao Intense, Dark Brown Hair Mask, Semi-Permanent Pigments, 100% Vegan & Sulfate/Paraben free

I colored my hair for the first time in over 15 years, usually my go to is a dark auburn, I like reds for my skin tone. I tried a new color, all natural, recommended by a friend and the color was supposed to be dark red. It turned my hair a horrible copper penny color, very light and harsh. I did not want to re-dye and through research found this product, read every single review and ordered. I got the cacao intense as I needed to darken but hopefully keep the red tones. My hair is short, very fine and thin so it didn't take much product. I was nervous about how dark it would be so I diluted with some water, put on damp hair, applied with a toothbrush which worked really well and once saturated combed through. I didn't want to leave on too long, the directions said 3-7 minutes so I did approx. 4, rinsed and conditioned. The results were amazing. I wanted it a bit darker, still had a bit of copper shine so I reapplied but this time did not dilute and I kept is on longer, maybe 5-7 min. I am so amazed by how well this worked. The color came out so good, exactly as I wanted and my hair is super soft. I used Carols Daughter Goddess strength fortifying conditioner after rinsing and my hair looks and feels amazing. I saw many comments in the reviews that said it stained the tub or sink and to be sure to wear gloves but using the toothbrush and comb I didn't need gloves and if any color got in the sink while applying I rinsed right then and no problems at all. The tub is fine as well. I would say do first application on the cautious side, diluted and for a short period and see how it looks as you can reapply if it's not there yet. So happy I found this. In regards to some saying it's expensive, it's really not. The tub will last for many applications especially if you have shorter fine hair like mine. So totally worth it and it saved the day.

I had been dying my hair blonde for years, and then decided to go back brown. I struggled with salon results lasting and didn’t want to mess with box dyes. Then I discovered this product! Works very well for me. I like both cacao and cacao intense. It lasts 2 weeks after one application, and then after using it a few times the results last more like 4 weeks after a single application. I’d recommend the pump bottle, as the jar can dye your hands and nails when applying. I only leave it in 3-5 minutes in the shower. It makes my hair so shiny and glossy after, and covers my blonde ends so that I have an all over rich brown color!

Surprisingly easy to use and effective for blending grays. Washes out a little too quickly.

So I’ve been using this product for about two weeks now on and off to touch up my hair. I have noticed a difference for sure after using it but would say it’s not exactly the shade I was hoping for. If you need a neutral color brown this shade isn’t it. I had pink hair before this but my roots are very much a deep blonde naturally so I was trying to match it. I do think this product helps achieve a new look pretty easily but I don’t know if I would get this shade again. I think it’s pretty expensive for the size you get. I think you go through it pretty fast too depending how frequently you have to use it. The instructions say to use on clean hair so if you are looking for something to use in the shower I wouldn’t really suggest it as you have to wear gloves and get out of the shower to be sure you have it all saturated and it’s just not very convenient. I am in the process of trying it on dry hair to see how that works. Will update if I’m able

Does not work at all. Can't return it now. Amazon is sending me to manufacturer's site and there is nobody ot contact for a refund. Bad experience with customer service on top of bad product.

This shade does not pull green or blue. It’s got a lovely rose gold undertone to it. I am so happy I found this!!! I was able to effortlessly tone my bleached level 10 roots with literally zero damage. Application was so easy! You can achieve a lighter shade by mixing a few drops with water and rub the solution all over your hair, or a more saturated shade by rubbing undiluted product into your hair. There is no risk of over processing and the mask leaves the hair hydrated.

I was looking for a dark brown conditioner to blend my growing dark brown roots with light brown dyed length and this conditioner is one of the best I tried. It does not cover greys but does a pretty good job at blending them with the rest of your hair. Moreover the bottle lasted me for 3 months at least although I was using a lot of the product every time. Smells great and the price is affordable too. Love it!

My hair was damaged and over-bleached as I wanted to warm my face with highlights from my black hair.. I bought in cocoa and it saved my hair. Have a brown color hair with subtle highlights. The quality of my hair is amazing. Beautiful color as well. It doesn't cover grey. So I went to a salon to cover my roots and the stylist use a very dark color so now I want to do something to bring a lighter color to my roots. I wonder if I can use my nila color in my dark-tinted hair. Would the cicka color light up a black hair?

I love this product! I have dark ashy brown hair and prefer no warmth in my color, so I always ask for a cool tone at the salon. I was afraid this would lean warm, but it didn't! I was pleasantly surprised by the result. My hair felt so soft and looked so shiny and refreshed. Of course, this doesn't do much to cover gray hair, but because of the high-shine finish, it makes the grays look less obvious. The instructions say to leave it on for 3-10 minutes. I left it on for about 10 minutes while wearing an aluminum foil cap. I bought the smaller jar to try it out, but I'll definitely repurchase the larger size once I'm done!

Honestly I can't praise this hair product enough. Used it for couple of years now. I leave it on for around 5 minutes and it's like I've dyed my hair. Leaves it soft and really shiny. Colour is rich but doesn't give a mattified dull look. I use it every couple of days just to keep colour/condition topped up.

No sabía que hacer con mis mechas después del verano, el color se había puesto amarillo feo y no quería tampoco volver a la peluquería (llevaban poco tiempo estas mechas). Después de una sola aplicación, se ha cambiado el color en algo más oscuro y bonito, se transformó también la calidad de mi pelo en algo mucho más brillante y sano. Llevo 3 aplicaciones (no cada champú, dejo pasar semanas), y cada vez me deja el pelo increíble. Me va a durar mucho el bote (lleva bastante producto y tampoco lo veo necesario después de cada champú). No te esperas cubrir las canas, no funciona así pero si, te cambiará el color de forma muy natural y progresiva. Uso guantes para aplicar y una toalla antigua para secar por si acaso (pero no me ha manchado nada de momento).
