I am sort or confused on the color, the pictures in reviews show two colors. Is this the lighter or more brown?

It is more of light tan. More of a natural color.

Will this fit on the front of a women’s 26” mountain style bike?

It probably would be a good fit it’s a little smaller than others so it may be good for mountain bike handle bars

How much weight will it carry 15lbs?

I believe the basket itself would. However I am not sure the straps could accomodate that weight. The straps could easily break the wicker with that weight as well.
