Child proof packaging is still way too hard to open- albeit a smidgen easier than most of the other brands I've tried. Of all the products packaged in child proof packaging, hearing aid batteries are the most difficult to open- hands down- you CANNOT open without scissors and tremendous prying effort- and once you've cut the package up to get at the batteries, you inevitably expose more batteries than you need to use or twisting the plastic makes some pop out and fall on floor and get lost- both mean children can now access packaging, defeating purpose of making it difficult to open. A better solution for this kind of battery- which is the type most likely to be swallowed by a child or pet-- hence the regulations mandating child proof packaging-- would be to pre-package them in a container with prescription bottle style child proof cap. Everyone seems to be forgetting that the people trying to open these are often seniors with weaker grip and finger strength.
