It makes it much easier to see if your subject is in focus when filming in bright light conditions, unless you like to view with your right eye. In that case, you have to "un-screw" the eyepiece 180 deg., causing it to be loose, and move constantly, needing to be meddled with instead of watching your subject. It also was shipped with adhesive all over the optics. This required it to be scrubbed off with cleaner and a lot of rubbing.
